his supporters seem pretty thin on the ground(on DS) so does anyone on here actually vote for him or want him to win..ive never even seen an AT for him.
considering hes favourite to win(just) he doesnt seem very popular.
im a Chloe fan by the way but Sam would be my second choice.

Yes I like Sam a lot and don't think he's been given enough credit for some of his routines.

Hi Sid - I think Sam would be much more popular had he let his skating do the talking rather than going for some rather questionable publicity.

Some of his routines have indeed been superb, though for an actor he seems to struggle a bit creating the mood and/or emotion.

I am a fan of Sam, as well as Chloe and Laura.

I'm a Sam fan. Also a fan of Chloe. If I'm honest, I don't especially like any of the celebs - but I enjoy watching Sam and Chloe skate.

I quite like Sam although I did go off him a bit as the series progressed. I did feel he was set up a bit last week and although Chloe's my favourite now, I hope he makes the final. I enjoy watching him skate - and that's what it's all about!

Can't say I am and to be honest ... he is not my cup of tea either - to sure of himself and a tad cocky.

I wouldn't call myself a fan but, since Vanilla Ice left, he's the one I like best of the remaining contestants.

I had no idea who Sam or Laura were before the series started (still have no idea what Sam has done, if I'm honest) so had no preconceived ideas about either of them. Expected to dislike Chloe because of her father!!

As the series has progressed I've grown to like both Laura and Chloe, but not Sam. Even though I think he is a good skater and deserves a place in the final, there is nothing that would make me even remotely tempted to vote for him.

Sorry Sam Fans.

I couldn't call myself a fan but wouldn't be particularly fussed if he won. I think any one of Laura, Sam or Chloe would be a good winner and just hope to see them all in the final.

Agree that he didn't help himself in the popularity stakes with the showmance/fauxmance shenanigans, but it hasn't stopped me appreciating his skating, which has been very good.

I love watching Sam's routines so I guess that makes me a Sam fan. I've also got more defensive of him over the last few weeks as everyone else on the show seems determined to set him up or put him down.

I also like Chloe a lot, hope they both make the final.

Not a fan as such, and I think he does look very heavy on the ice, but he is far more interesting to watch than chloe, laura and johnson.

He's so complacent, cannot stand any criticism, blames someone or something else when things go wrong, such as the hat, he won't let go when answering back, he seems arrogant and rude. All the good work he does through his skating is immediately undone whenever he opens his mouth. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

I agree - and it means when it comes to the popularity stakes (which, when it comes to people voting, is as, if not more, important than the skating), he is probably his own worst enemy.

I definitely wouldn't say he's complacent. He may have been in the early part of the series - although I didn't see that in him - but, if he was, he's certainly had that knocked out of him over the last several weeks.

I really don't mind which of Sam, Laura and Chloe wins, though I hope all three make it to the final. I don't strongly like or dislike Sam - how anyone can make a serious judgement about personality based on the snippets and spin we get fed is beyond me. He reacts to things probably more like an actual person would, rather than a burnished media player. Based on the tweets of people like Matt Evers, he seems popular witrh his fellow contestants and the pros, for what that is worth.

Oh, that's interesting. I haven't warmed to Sam at all based on what I've seen on DOI (haven't read the surrounding media, so not really been influenced by stories in the press about him).

If the people who've actually spent time with him through the series like him, then it's a shame for him that more of that likeability doesn't come across in the show. And I don't just mean in the VTs, which I appreciate can be manipulated in the edit, but in his live responses to the scores and judges comments.

Yes I agree. Feeling sorry for him lately, as he seems to have gone out of favour with some people.

thanks guys for your interesting responses ...i also feel a bit sorry for him.i actually think hes quite a nervous insecure guy under the macho exterior.
of course your right the fauxmance was a dreadful and ill advised move.it made them come across as tacky and desperate. i personally thought his "Riverdance" was outstanding.

As someone said, he's his own worst enemy

In Ultimate Skills week everyone else worried about getting them right - he was 'happy' with the skills and decided to concentrate on the headbanger instead - which he made a mess of

I actually think that's why the lack of any 'it Takes Two' equivalent hits contestants - there's virtually no chance of friendships and relationships getting through the manipulated VTs and the agenda-driven and limited 'This Morning' "reports". We get next to no sense of how the celebs and pros interact with each other. Not that ITT is particularly deep or that it is without its biases, but we do see something of backstage interaction and more extended interviews.

Call me silly but I judge him on his skating!

Someone should have told them that some of the voting public are without a clue and/or base their lives of OK magazine.

So I would be honoured if that sort didn't vote for me and leave me with at least some credibility.

He's a good skater and I've really loved a couple of his routines. It's just that I haven't connected to him as much as I have the remaining contestants. It's not a case of disliking him or anything; I just like other people more.
