I love Sam's skating ability and, after last week's set-up (why on earth did they change the hat??) I will be voting for him, which I've never done for any reality show before. I would much rather see him win than Laura with her irritating manic grin.

I like Sam and think he's been unfairly marked/ treated by the judges at times. Laura to win though but might through a vote Sam's way too.

I think Sam is the strongest skater this year, his Riverdance routine was imho the most outstanding routine in a very long time, I feel he is being under marked most weeks. As for being a fan, not really, I just admire the three best skaters left in the comp but having said that I would like Sam or Chloe to be the ultimate winner.

He asked for the hat to be changed - and the question was "anyone on here actually a Sam fan?"

What's that got to do with Laura?

Well I think the judges and the producers have it in for Sam - he is continually undermarked (particularly when you have regard to the fact that the male celeb's job is tougher as they have to lead and lift). All that fuss over the hat last week - with VTs added in making Sam look bad - whereas Laura can do no wrong.

If Sam is third with the judges tonight I think sadly he may be a gonner. We shall see.

If Laura was judges favourite as so many imply she'd have topped the leaderboard week in and week out - but she hasn't. In fact, excluding qualifiers, Sam has been top on 5 occasions out of 8. Deservedly so in my opinion - but his success doesn't suggest that the judges and producers etc. have it in for him.

I think his loss of some public support is down to the foolish fauxmance story, his difficulty in dealing with criticism and his initial arrogance when suggesting he could be better than Chris Fountain and Ray Quinn.

None of which should detract from his very real talent - unfortunately it does.

I take your point but personally i dont care how they interact with other contestants or back stage staff!!! its what they do on the ice that matters and how they project/present themselves. IF I feel moved by a performance then thats enough for me, if i am left cold by it then i trust my judgement over any comment made by the judges T&D etc, i was not aware of the fauxmance till well after the fact but it really didnt change my mind much about him as a performer but as a person i was a bit disappointed and felt he was insulting to the viewers, i would like him to go tonight as i dont feel he has improved very much, secondly i dont like him much.

In a competition voted for by the public, it's inevitable that it will. Popularity and likeability will affect who people choose to spend their money voting for and, as you suggest, it's a foolish contestant who comes across as a bad sport or arrogant.

Sam is quite upfront and honest about wanting to win - hence his disappointment when he sees himself being undermarked despite the fact he is the best skater in the show and as a male celeb has to lead and lift.. I prefer that to all the fakeness about not wanting to win - which the public seem to prefer.

Vote for the dishonest people who don't seem to show much passion about wanting to win (when they really do) - seems to be the view taken!

Well many complain that Laura is too competitive so a Sam/Laura final would be edge of seat, nail biting stuff.

Did anyone notice that when he was in the skate off last week, when it came to the part where he had to do the trick with the hat, he did it completely different to the first time & literally threw it straight up in the air!!

I am a Sam fan!
We met him before the show started as he was in our local panto. My daughter has friends who were in the panto with him. Off camera he comes across as a nice young man, though I heard he is a bit of a charmer with the ladies. Its been a shame he has done/said a few silly things which the press have made the most of - he has a bit to learn about the effect the media can have.
I think its hard to compare male and female skaters as their roles in a partnership are very different. So the solo section should be very interesting. For once I like the 'twist'.

Agree with you.

I think even if Sam is perfect tonight, they will find something to pick on. His VT will prob show him making a cup of tea for himself but not offering anyone else one!

And caught it two handed.

Why not - had he dropped it again he could have been out. Jeff did do a very good skate off.

I wasn't too excited about any of them at the beginning, but I've come to find Sam & Brianne's performances more and more exciting as the weeks have gone on. I haven't yet voted but may well do if they wow me again tonight

I love watching Sam skate and his Irish routine is my favourite one of this series so far.

I agree.

Yes I am a Sam fan and is the only one that I really look forward to watching. Because he is smooth he makes it look effortlless.

The Riverdance was the best skate of the series imho

Agree, and this is why i'm not a fan, sorry.

I like Sam. He's the best skater (and has the best bum ), and I really don't get the comments about him not having a personality -- he has more of it than both Laura and Chloe combined. The girls may skate well and seem nice, but I find both a bit vacuous.

He's much the best skater this series - the solos really demonstrated that. Personally, I like his personality better, too: less cloying than the girls, though I can see why others might prefer them. I really didn't think there would be another celebrity skater that would approach Ray Quinn's grace and fluidity on the ice, but I think Sam does. His tall stature does not always help, though. I do think the two remaining girls are talented, especially Laura, but I don't think they're anything like as smooth, assured and graceful.

He seemed quite a nice guy when he was getting interviewed by Jeff Brazier on TM.

After last night's performances I am absolutely rooting for Sam to win. Up til now I've been excited by the prospect of a three-way final but he's really confirmed for me that he's the best out there and deserves the crown.

I think the kind of communication you have to do on DOI - short soundbitey moments - doesn't really suit Sam, who strikes me as the kind of person who you need a bit more time to chat to before you make up your mind on them. He's not a reality veteran or a live TV-type person so he's got no experience of the kind of madness it generates.

Anyway, Sam and Brianne to win win win!

I perceive with what he is doing is flouncing, the public hate that immensely and I would advise people to think about that factor. You don't see Mark Ramprakash do it whilst he was on SCD, so it's no different for Sam Attwater.
