I tried to transfer a video tape/s to the USB recording portal on the new telly

I used the HDMI function, but on the telly it states the recorder is not available yet.

Is this because there is no way you can transfer Video tapes to a recordable USB stick portal on the new telly

Any help most wellcome

I think if you use the RF out from the video to the telly , and tune the video signal in the analogue tuner , you may then record the RF signal to USB

and what i dont understand is how you use HDMI , is it a combined VHS/ DVD player ?

as far as I know is the USB is to record television programmes

I have a 22inch murphy HD LCD which has a USB it plays back video if it is a mpeg 2 file , you can download free softwear to convert video files ,you can down load video from internet and convert to mpeg and burn to stick

you can get a device to copy your video or dvd to mpeg these can be found on ebay once file converted it will play on your stick

I also have a phillips DVD player which has usb and like the tv it has to be mpeg 2
