Transfering files to USB
I have promised someone I will get hold of their TV appearance.
I'm not sure how this can be done; although thought i'd give it a go this morning with a SD card/USB adaptor, formatted to FAT32 with a capacity of 1.86Gb. The programme is quite small, an hour of BBC West Mids in SD. I had assumed this would be an easy file to transfer, but I keep getting a "no more storage" message. I have managed to transfer two different hour long programmes - from Channl Four and Five, but suspect that I get this message due to BBC WM using a higher bitrate and requiring more space (i'd have rather have not had to buy a seperate pen...) Secondly, how can I transfer the file into something more usable? I was wondering it popping it into their Youtube would be enough, but i'm doubting that will work... Any thoughts? |

Just recorded a short clip of BBC1 WM here's the details
General ID : 7FE Complete name : G:\Football Focus_20110319_1246.ts Format : BDAV Format/Info : BluRay Video File size : 40.9 MiB Duration : 1mn 15s Overall bit rate : 4 568 Kbps Video ID : 5000 (0x1388) Menu ID : 10301 (0x283D) Format : MPEG Video Format version : Version 2 Format profile : Main@Main Format settings, Matrix : Default Duration : 1mn 15s Bit rate mode : Variable Bit rate : 4 118 Kbps Nominal bit rate : 15.0 Mbps Width : 720 pixels Height : 576 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16/9 Frame rate : 25.000 fps Standard : PAL Colorimetry : 4:2:0 Scan type : Interlaced Scan order : Top Field First Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.397 Stream size : 36.8 MiB (90%) Audio ID : 5001 (0x1389) Menu ID : 10301 (0x283D) Format : MPEG Audio Format version : Version 1 Format profile : Layer 2 Duration : 1mn 15s Bit rate mode : Constant Bit rate : 256 Kbps Channel(s) : 2 channels Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz Resolution : 16 bits Video delay : -261ms Stream size : 2.29 MiB (6%) Language : English Text #1 ID : 5002 (0x138A) Menu ID : 10301 (0x283D) Format : Teletext Language : eng / eng Text #2 ID : 5003 (0x138B) Menu ID : 10301 (0x283D) Format : DVB Subtitles Language : English Menu ID : 256 (0x100) Menu ID : 10301 (0x283D) Format : MPEG Video / MPEG Audio / Teletext / DVB Subtitles List : 5000 (0x1388) (MPEG Video) / 5001 (0x1389) (MPEG Audio, eng) / 5002 (0x138A) (Teletext, eng / eng) / 5003 (0x138B) (DVB Subtitles, eng) Language : / eng / eng / eng / eng As you can see bitrate is 4.568Mbps divide by 8 to get MB/sec gives 0.571 MB/sec multiply by 3600 gives a file size of about 2055MB so your guess is correct it's too big for the stick. If you can get hold of the .ts file why not burn it to DVD. You can use the free trial version of Videoredo TV suite. |
