Good theme! Hope it's not the same usual set of songs though.

I've already thought of songs for everyone, the only ones I've knowingly reused are ones I think are absolutely ideal for the person I have given them to

Oooooooo I thought of one

Barry White - Just the Way you Are

Good one, Scott MacIntyre did well with the Billy Joel version of that

More disco than Motown but I love Feels Like I'm In Love by Kelly Marie. Apparently it was originally written for Elvis?

Loads i can think of that Jacob would do justice, just a couple of examples:

'Let's get it on', 'What's Going On' or 'Papa Was a Rollin' Stone' (actually I think James would do a good job with the latter).

Would like someone to sing 'You've Really Got a Hold On Me ' just because I really like the song (maybe Paul).

I don't think he needs Motown or any other genre to do that. Performances of which only one has been at best above average, ridiculously overblown and transparently not meant comments by Steven and ill thought out comments from James such "I'll save that for the finale" that just make him look arrogant and presumptious are seeing to that.

Allison Iraheta did a good job with Papa Was A Rolling Stone on Motown week two years ago. James' lower register isn't steady enough for that type of vocal.

I don't know what the average AI viewer's reaction would be to a gay man singing Let's Get It On.

I honestly cant see how he can make any motown song sound credible he's just not versatile enough and after last weeks performance, were he was totally flat, I think he'll just murder whatever he sings

Is he gay then?

I suppose he could sing it but to his boyfriend?

Not as far as I know, he's got a kid with his wife/long term girlfriend I think.

Anyhoo, don't think he's got the right voice for Lets get it on, Jacob possibly could, but he'd need to reign himself in a lot and actually sing the song and not throw in a million runs and unnecessary vocal gymastics that completely distract from the song, as he has been doing

Is "Is he gay?" a serious question?

The fact that it would be a man singing sexually suggestive lyrics who would be evidently singing them to another man is exactly what a large amount of the AI audience would have a problem with.

It was Jacob I was referring to, not James, and three cheeses had suggested Let's Get It On for Jacob.

I agree with your assessment on Jacob. Just because you can doesn't mean you always should.

The suggestion of Endless Love for Thia isn't ideal. She's already being pinged by the judges for singing ballads every time, so she needs something uptempo, or she could be looking at being in the B3. Pia needs something uptempo too.

I agree about Jacob steering away from a song such as 'Let's Get It On'. And there's no way he wouldn't include a million runs in that. *shudder*

I think Ain't Too Proud To Beg by The Temptations would be a good choice for Casey.

Allison's 'Papa...' was great, one of her best performances.

I actually picked Let's Get It On for Stefano - it'd be a bit different to the songs he's performed so far, but I reckon vocally he'd pull it off and it'd fit in with J.Lo's desire for him to connect moe.

I chose Papa Was A Rolling Stone for James, because I think it'd sit his voice and he could relate to the lyrics.

I picked Reach Out (I'll Be There) for Jacob, as I don't think it'd matter if her oversang that, it's quite a belter anyway. Not sure he can pull it back yet, but his fans don't seem to mind that lol.

Scotty - As I said, It's The Same Old Song - should suti his country style without being too obvious, and it's more uptempo than he'd usually go.

For Casey, I wasn't sure, so as he's my support worker's favourite, and that support worker looks like Lionel Richie, I picked Easy by Lionel Richie. I do think it could work though

I don't like Paul, but I didn't want to sabotage him too blatantly lol! I picked Tears of a Clown for him - I don't think you need a massive voice for that.

For Lauren, I picked Dancing In The Street . She could do her own thing with it and have fun. I reckon it's a good fit.

I chose Don't Leave Me This Way for Pia, as I like the song and ideally, it should be given to someone with a big vocal range. Also, it keeps her uptempo, without having to change the arangement too much this time.

Naima's song from me is I'm Still Waiting. She's been hiding behind her look and performance, but that song needs a strong vocal, and emotional connection. If she can't deliver that, she's wasting her time.

Haley I'm not keen on either, but I picked a good song, Please Mr Postman, for her. She can work on her performance skills and it shouldn't challenge her vocals too much.

I've given Thia My Guy by Mary Wells because it's moe upbeat than anything she's done so far, and will suit her age as well as her voice.

I thought it was Jacob who was gay. He keeps eluding to the fact that he had problems when he was young because he was different.

I think Scotty should sing Let's Get It On. But as he's so young, they could change the lyric to "let's just be friends". This would also deal with any gender issues, as the "friend" could be of either sex.
