No it's not so difficult, loads of kids do them. Your hands shouldn't slip if you do it right. I understand why she'd want the extra security though.

She did do a lot else besides and at good speed. The sideways footwork after the start is very difficult and the heel to toe stuff rather than just being on toepicks is not easy. She also did barrel rolls, some jumpy things as well as two nicely executed 3 jumps and a reasonable spin from moving and some 3 turns so she was the only one to have spins and jumps as well as footwork. It was foot stompy music so the foot stamping was interpretive of that.
