There are plenty of forums for serious issues and I'm almost certain that most posters on DOI are aware of the devastation recently experienced in Australia, New Zealand, Haiti and Japan not to mention the Middle East conflicts. Having a very dear friend in Queensland, Australia I wouldn't want a repeat of the fear and anxiety I felt whilst waiting for news, nor would I wish it on anyone else. The relief I felt when I learned of his safety was indescribable.
I've donated to all the relief funds and I'm sure many other DOI posters have taken similar action. I wish I could do more but I'm doing what I can via monetary donations.
I really don't think that seeking a little light relief by way of a light entertainment programme signifies ignorance or dismissal of world suffering.
