I'm getting rather fed up with the constant shots of Richard & Judy compared with other skater's supporters, who rarely get their faces shown.

Wonder how much Richard &Judy have paid to get their faces shown so much?

None of the other contestants have famous parents.

It is down to the camera crew, presumably, who are not doing Chloe any favours.

It just reminds people why she got the gig in the first place. !!

Poor R & J, damned if they do, damned if they don't.

They are only there as parents supporting their daughter.

Certainly take after your UN OP.

So what - they show them when she's skated. They do it with all of the supporters - just you recognise them.

They can't win, if they weren't there one week everyone would be saying 'oh why weren't R&J at DOI ... have they fallen out with Chloe, each other etc etc? '

I think they've been surprisingly low key, I thought we'd be force fed a lot more of them in VT's etc but they are just there supporting her and that's it.

yawn .. not another R&J thread

exactly ... I remember seeing a lot of shots of Sam & Brianne's supporters last night ..... I only recognsed them as they all wear brght blue t-shirts and there's a bunch of them sitting together .... it's the same with R&J ... t's just because they're famous and you recognise them that you remember audience shots of them more

Over the past couple of weeks we also got quite a few cllose up shots of Johnson's mother in the audience too

Why not show the parents/relatives .. their obviously there to support the skaters and why shouldn't they whether they're famous or not

Exactly. R & J stand out because they're well-known. Friends and families of the other skaters are always shown too, but because they're not famous, people naturally assume they're just members of the audience.

The Richard & Judy Show - aka DOI

I dont see it like that, I see two very proud parents, and imo rightly so.

This.

Leave them alone fgs. I think their enthusiastic support is brilliant for Chloe.

I also had to laugh at Richard on Something For The Weekend the other week when they were telling him how great they thought Chloe was doing. He was really appreciative of their comments. But when they showed the VT of her last performance, someone started speaking at the end and Richard shushed them so he could hear the judges remarks. made me laugh anyway.

its quite funny but also how ridiculous they have been getting into dancing on ice. Judy cried when Chloe fell over and when she was in the bottom 2

Ridiculous, it's not the Olympics, it's just a bit of fun.

Well I just see them as doting parents, who are there to support their daughter, just like any other parents would do. Good for them! I dont know what peoples problem is!

I know .. I bet most of the posters here would react the same way if it was their daughter taking part ... there's nothng wrong with being a close family supporting each other

They are very proud parents and have every reason so to be. I would be exactly the same as them. We just recognise them more than the other relatives.
Richard gets up and claps and cheers each skater coming in, not just his own daughter.
I'm not a fan of R&J at all, but in this instance give them a break..

I'm not against close family supporting each other but it is just a bit of fun and shouldn't be taken too seriously by the family.

Chris Moyles and Jane and Sara Cox were seen (Coxy just once unfortunately) every week for Comedy Dave.

Johnsons Mother gets her face on it every single week.

Tim Healey and that fella who got burned where there constantly as well.

I do agree with the majority who say that Richard and Judy have every right to be there supporting Chloe, and that the fact they're shown often is no fault of theirs (and compared to other supporters, it's prob about the same amount).

BUT...I do get narked when you can hear Richard going 'woo' really loud every time someone says something positive about Chloe. You can tell it's him a mile off and all it does is use up precious seconds in the show's live timing, which you'd think he'd know better than to do. Why not maintain a discreet silence and not behave like Jedward?

you must have been watching a different show to me as I don't recall seeing Judy cry at all, in fact I don't think they even showed R&J when the bottom 2 were announced.. but let's not let that stop the opportunity to make up derogatory comments

I am not being derogatory, I like Richard and Judy but they go over the top imo. I don't see you having a go at those posters being rude about Laura's weight? Now that is much more worrying.

how are they taking it too seriously .. what are R&J doing that none of the other supporters are doing

I've seen supporters of all the skaters cheering in the audience and shouting support, I've seen banners being waved for most of them too .....so explain how R&J are taking it more seriously than anyone else .....

Did you see Judy cry or are you taking the word of a poster on a message board and jumping on the bandwaggon to meet your own agenda .... watch the show back on iplayer .... I don't see Judy crying at all

you seem quick to criticise those who are personal about Laura yet you agreed with someone last night who posted that Choe looked like her dad in drag ...... a tad hypocritical don't you think? .. if you think I should be having a go at people criticising Laura's weght then why aren't you having a go at people making personal remarks about Chloe instead of agreeing wth them?

and why should I have a go at people criticising Laura's weight? what's this discussion got to do with Laura's weight? .. I don't condone it but I'm not the forum police out to slap everyone on the hand .. I just happen to comment in this thread about the fact that I think the poster made up the fact that Judy was crying when Chloe fell and when she was in the bottom two as if she did they didn't show that on my telly

Sams supporters are shown consistently every week and there has been a large number of them there. They are obvious by the bright blue t-shirts and are certainly visible throughout the show and in earlier weeks were almost in constant shot when the camera's were panning on the audience.

Chris Moyles and David Seaman were also regularly shown on camera when Comedy Dave was still in and as someone said Tim Healy has always been featured as has Johnson's family.

The supporters of the celebs taking part will always be shown its just natural for people to hone in on those who are well known they may not even actually be focusing on Richard and Judy all the time if they are in a shot with other audience members you will be drawn to them over a face you don't know it doesn't mean they are being shown more than other people.
