No it isn't. At this moment in time, Cheryl has released two albums, has had massive sales and a huge profile, yet all she has done touring wise is support the BEP's. The only gigs she has done are short, private gigs. Cheryl is not interested in a music career and her behaviour screams this. She makes a very good celebrity (self promotion is what she excels at) but that's it.

It wouldn't have killed her to tour the UK and Ireland to thank her fans. I'm not talking arena tour here. Alexander Burke has managed to tour (and she's only on album one). Trying to defend Cheryl's complete and utter lack of commitment to music beyond instant self promotion is what's ridiculous.
Cheryl did tv promo in about 5 other countries. She planned to go to Australia, but 'she pretended to be seriously ill with malaria'. Also performed 4 songs at Radio One's Big Weekend last summer. V Festival August performance cancelled due to obvious reasons.
I agree that she probably should have done a tour at this stage. This was her plan back in Novemeber when she released the 2nd album as she had enough material to perform. But I can understand that with the X Factor US, she needs to get working on new material as it would be strange having a judge who nobody has ever heard of or seen what they can do. Not saying she's doing American XF but I think that's what the stall on the 2nd album is about.

BTW, Alexandra Burke had 17 songs to perform on her tour.

Crazy. Nobody wants constant albums, it's over-indulgent and people won't keep paying for them if they're moved on from so quickly even by the artist themself.

This will be three albums in less than 2 years - has nobody told her about the tried, tested, and proved viable method of an album every two years, punctuated by tours for extra money, publicity, etc?

Of course, Cheryl needs neither the money nor the publicity so has no reason to tour or do any significant performing outside of her albums. If thats not proof that she has no real love for what is supposed to be her art then I don't know what is. Even the likes of Jedward and Bieber bother to tour and space out releases - it's a basic requirement of the modern-day musician.

Little Miss Formerly National Treasure once again proves she's living in a fantasy world located somewhere deep inside her arse.

So she is still recording her 3rd album. If she releases at her annual time, the first single could be on radio in 6/8 weeks.

Without X Factor behind her Biffa will be in a similar position to bandmates Nadine & Nicola

Album will be released in November, with an X Factor performance as a sorry from Cowell. It'll sell for a few weeks up till Xmas then disappear out of the charts unless she can come up with some new sob story to keep her in the public eye.

Really hope she disappears soon. She's already had more success than her limited talent deserves.

Apparently they have nothing to do with each other now so I wouldn't count on it.

Though I dislike Cheryl, and my initial response was too soon, but I think it could work.

She needs to do good though!

She had a fanbase. We will have to wait to see if you are right.

A fanbase that bought into the product she had become through being the face of X Factor. That face is now being filled by Tulisa who I expect young girls will now latch on to as their idol when the new series starts next month.

Cheryl needed X Factor, X Factor doesn't need her.

she still has big musical contacts willing to work with her. i think she needs to take more time personally and come back with something really good.

We shall see. What happens when it doesn't flop? What stupid excuse will her non-fans give?

She might not be the 'face' of X Factor anymore but she's still talked about more than Tulisa and Kelly combined

Well if it is true, i'm not that impressed tbh. She should be taking more time to get it right and come up with a quality album that has had a lot of work put into it, one which she can honestly say she is 100% proud of.

I can understand wanting the album release to coincide with the X Factor Live Shows (if that is the plan). All artists want that kind of promotion; But 3 albums in 2 years is a bit much imo.

How do you know who everyone in Britain talks about? if you mean the media Cheryl doesn't get mentioned half as much anymore as she used to when the X Factor golden girl.

If she's doing another one so soon, then it will be as bad or worse than MLR...I don't think that the FM collaboration is for her album either, it sounded like she was featured on that track...

Her sales will take a big hit, and she will have to promote the hell out of this album and future singles if she wants a number one...she was very lazy the last 2 times as she had X Factor's hyper-promotion propelling her to number 1...The Flood, and 3 Words did not do well without The X Factor...

I don't know why she wants to do another solo album so soon to be honest...her performance skills are diabolical and she most definitely would not impress on a solo tour...

I always thought the albums were put out so quickly due to having them out around the time of the XF live shows, so it makes no sense to rush it now. Her & her team usually get out 2-3 singles during the time she's in the XF spotlight and then move on, which is a shame because IMO some good tracks get missed and the some of the tracks on the album are quite fillerish and crappy.

I'm probably in the minority here but I'd like to hear some new music.. As long as it's not rushed and there's a proper promotional campaign behind it, it always annoyed me how there was only a few performances due to it being sold by the X Factor so it'll be interesting to see if her team get their asses in gear.

3 Words peaked at number 4 from ZERO X Factor promotion... i wouldn't call that a release that "did not do well"

Please sit down, it had some of the lowest sales for a top 5 single, and dropped out of the top 10 faster than she dropped her knickers for Simon...

She can go ahead with this, but it will flop...

yes, but is there are news on whether there will be a 3rd album this year? or is this speculation and are people just predicting failure about a hypothetical release?

She already has an established fanbase of at least 3mill (from her Facebook page) and if it gets airplay on the radio and music channels I see no reason why it can't do well, providing it's not crap. Parachute got to number five and she got number ones in Denmark, Norway and Hungary without them even knowing who Cheryl is.

She didn't 'get' them, she went to their X Factor shows and performed there...
