Inspector Corn-aby?
Make it stop.
This is not crafted. It's thrown together identikit Midsomer from a bag of bits left over and all done better before. It can't make it's mind up, if it's a piss take its not a good one. If its a comedy it's not that funny. It is Wooden. It is badly written. It is embarrassing. |

Why do these episodes last 2 hours?
A bit of editing, an hour long and they'd be fine. 2 hours just drags. Glad I've actually seen that it was the start of a new series, and that I haven't come in half way through the series as has been happening. |

I thoroughly enjoyed this episode, much more than A Rare Bird which I thought was ok. Love the episodes with ghosts/supernatural elements!

Jonesey must be off his medication, as he's gone dim again.
I'm sure they only do this to make the new Barney Bee seem more intelligent. |

Matchsticks to get through this wooden acting farce. Dragged on and on and on. 90 minutes in and it was as if I had been reading a childs book with big print and illustrations. Dudgeons aloof, obnoxious arrogant Know all character "acting" ( I swear I could see the strings ..) seems like he spouting the words but not "connected" to the close knit cast. As if he has walked in and not gelled. Hence all the pauses, isolated lines, and ridiculous "Binocular "sketch !!!! He doesnt bind, charm or endear himself at all. ![]() I always look forward to these .....but feel disappointed, cold and empty afterwards. Like going down to your favourite village local to discover its full of city strangers on a night out... and your cosy corner seat and atmosphere is ....irritatingly insatiated. |

![]() and a script writer who is at least plausable in some way. In what world do we have private battle reinactments with no publc to be seen ? a potential victim is left alone while Borenaby watches his wife play Hyacinthe Bouquet in the commentry box. |

I think that Neil has made the character his own now. the first few shows I kept thinking what would Tom do. Tonight I didn't. Loved the way the new Mrs Barnaby got the hump with the roundheads etc.that was much better than the old one would have dealt with it.;

I was disappointed. I thought what a load rubbish.
The only good acting came from the dog! |

If it's going to continue to be dross, then ITV need to introduce more Sykes the dog.

It is embarrassing to watch now. When Jonn Nettles left they should have called it a day.

I couldn't quite work out the circumstances of why anyone would shoot an inanimate suit of armour in a barn, thinking it was actually a person.
But then I couldn't work out why so many teenagers would throw themselves off small sailing boats in the calm waters of a little bay in one of the Jaws films, but there you go. |

I just couldn't understand the randomness of the bit where Lionel had shagged Toby's wife and was the real father of the 'special' boy'

Didn't love the script but to be honest I only tuned in for the scenes of the Sealed Knot at Knebworth. I had the opportunity to be an extra but I really couldn't be motivated by the long journey from Leeds and the joys of camping out in mid-October.
Still, at least the best man at my wedding gave a good 'oo-ah lets be up and at em' type speech which made the cut. |

After "A Rare Bird", I had hopes that the series was beginning to settle down with the new Barnaby, but how wrong can you get!.
I know this is overused, but Sykes out acted the rest of the cast in every scene he was in, that is how wooden the performances were. Also wondered how long it would take the writers before they started to push the new Mrs B into the stories, and yesterdays mash up provided the answer. Poor effort all round. |

It maybe just me, but it seems there has been a lot of everyone in one room while the killer is outed a lot recently. I recall on older episode (Vixen's Run?) Where Barnaby was doing this and someone said something like "Oh do get on with it Miss Marple", which sums up the humour of the old Barnaby. |

The murderer had worked out from seeing the grey horse who the headless rider was so he went up to the barnyard and shot who he believed was the woman in the suit but she was hiding in the back of the barnyard and he had only shot the empty suit that's when Barnaby and Jones found her hiding
How did she get it to stand up? |

As I was watching it, I started thinking to myself that they had done a good bit of casting in finding two actors who looked as though they could be brothers to play the twins.
