Nah, they've still got the comedy reveal for whatever Barnaby's done to the dog (cut "Happy Anniversary" into his coat?) so i can't see them doing that if Jones is dead. Unless it's a dodgy lobster that does for him.

Why was Jones being harsh towards Sylvia at the end, saying had she had her rights read to her?

Jones is still there, so is he just going to be disappeared a bit like his predecessor?

That was a bit confusing - I suppose he meant Hayley. He was a bit p'd off with Miss Mountford about the bullying, so that's maybe why he was harsh with her?

I shall miss Jones (the best of Barnaby's SIC's). I like Neil Dudgeon.

But Sykes is the star of the show!

Black people obviously have a death wish too.

And with one of the black characters being murdered, murderers in Midsomer are doing their bit for racial equality - at least your chances of dying in Midsomer aren't determined by your skin colour.

Did the actor quit the show suddenly, not allowing a written exit?

I'm a bit confused. Who did Miss Mountford murder?

It was, yet, another fantastic episode - but why no explanation to Jones' exit?! It was the perfect time, when he was sat the table, to say he had been promoted or something like that - not just close it without any indication that he had left! Very disappointed that he didn't get the send-off he deserved.

Goodbye, Jason, you have been brilliant.

Loved tonights episode. They should make Sykes Neils next partner. Saw a tweet from MidsomerTV saying that Jason decided to leave the show well after they'd finished filming, hence no goodbye scene. Shame, I've loved the partnership between Neil and Jason. Glad to see also they're starting filming in the spring for a new series!!

I thought it was going to be similar to john nettle's departure, when he's gathered with those close to him to tell them that hes leaving.
