I am getting into midsomer. Been watching a lot of episodes lately. There is no doubt having compared some of the John Nettle's episodes and the Neil Dudgeon episodes that midsomer has been sexed up a bit (Lily allen's dad is a lucky man having relations with tamsin mallieson) but I am hyped up for tonight. I did enjoy the christmas episode (amd I was not even sure it was her doing the murders)

It was good to see Michael Jayston, Roy Hudd and Patricia Brake.

Yay, I guessed the murderer's identity! Though the bit before the last ad break confused me and tricked me into changing my mind very briefly (until I realised it had to be misdirection).
Very good episode. The next one will probably be shown on the 29th if the 22nd is the National television awards. |

I never guessed it was the old vicar. Partly because I thought he'd be too ill and frail for all the physical effort involved.
And had he really kept the sacking for all those years? Why? For sentimental reasons? Then he used it in a murder? Yeah, right. In spite of which, I enjoyed it. And I do like the new Barnaby better than the old one, and the new wife better than Joyce, and the dog better than Cully. And I like the new young copper as well. |

It was really bugging me where I'd seen the actress who appeared with Roy Hudd in tonight's episode (Patricia Brake),,,,,,,,,then it dawned on me, she played Fletcher's daughter in Porridge and Going straight many moons ago.

Very confused by MM last night, fell asleep about 30 minutes before the end, woke up to a police officer making a statement and a very angry crowd yelling at him, thought 'blimey, Midsomer's got a bit fruity' not realising I'd woken up during the news report on the fall out of the Mark Duggan enquiry

So "Lewis's Chief Superintendent, Jean Innocent" (Rebecca Front) was moonlighting as a vicar in this.
I wish they wouldn't do that. There's plenty of other actors about. That's the problem with being in something for twenty-nine episodes. |
