So she can't take any more acting jobs while she's still playing Lewis' boss??
She isn't, except in repeats at the moment. She can do what she likes, she doesn't need my permission. How she's perceived, is down to the individual viewer. You're welcome to your own opinions. |

Is this the second time there has been a murderous vicar in Midsommer Murders??
Richard Briers played one way back in '99 |

3rd I think there was another one where a mad vicar wanted to baptise a child to end some kind of historical curse.

Yes, I knew straight away it would be one of the vicars. It seems common now in these detective series for the vicar to be the villain. Is it part of an anti Christian ethos amongst todays producers.? Why don't they dare have a villainous Rabbi or Immam.?

Luckily there is Father Brown on BBC as an antidote. |

Well, that's amazingly good news to cheer up a dreary, wet afternoon.

TBH if it were any programme other than MM I'd agree that there was some kind of agenda, like the "Floods" in this weeks episode but I really think that its just not that kind of show.

But anyway, the point is that Christianity could do with a slightly better representation on the show. |

Very confused by MM last night, fell asleep about 30 minutes before the end, woke up to a police officer making a statement and a very angry crowd yelling at him, thought 'blimey, Midsomer's got a bit fruity' not realising I'd woken up during the news report on the fall out of the Mark Duggan enquiry

So "Lewis's Chief Superintendent, Jean Innocent" (Rebecca Front) was moonlighting as a vicar in this.
I wish they wouldn't do that. There's plenty of other actors about. That's the problem with being in something for twenty-nine episodes. Though when I saw her in New Tricks once it took a few scenes for me to ignore the fact she was Robbie's boss! Lovely to see Roy Hudd again. He's looking well, and he's lost weight! |

I think Neil Dudgeon is excellent as the current Barnaby, now he has settled in, and the new sidekick is just right. I still love Sykes best, though (and I don't even like dogs!) |

Pleased that I managed to correctly guess the murderer's identity again! Though as with the episode we had in early January, there were moments that made me hesitate.
Mild spoiler (sort of) for next week's episode:
Spoiler
Wonder if Jones will briefly appear in the 100th episode, like Daniel Casey did in the 50th. Mind you, we'd probably know by now if he was coming back. |

I thought this week's episode was very good. The scripts and plots seem to have gone up a notch this series.
