that is my understanding but really there was no need to incorporate it into the show, she serves even less purpose than the old Mrs Barnaby who has effectively been replaced by Sykes
Not keen on the new side kick either. No charisma whatsoever. |

How about an hour and a half?
Set your PVR to record the programme. At around 8:30 start watching it. When the advertisements come on, skip forward and resume watching (as it's still being recorded). Repeat for each ad. break. Since ITV have 12 minutes of ads. per hour, by skipping past them you will see the programme without having to waste any of your precious 2 hours on unwanted breaks. You should also get to the conclusion of the programme more-or-less when viewers who sat down at 8:00 will, too. |

Off topic slightly, but it's associated with the last MM episode's Danish connection, specifically, Ann Eleonora Jørgensen who played VPK Birgitte Poulsen.
If you want to see a dark Danish comedy, then watch the dvd, "Italian For Beginners" which she stars in, it's a wonderful gem, from a few years ago. |

I'm not surprised as all the programmes I consider better, Suits, The Good Wife, Nashville and Southland, are scheduled for Thursdays.

But with the exception of The Good Wife all those programmes are on minor channels and wouldn't have eaten away at the ratings for MM very much

I mostly liked the Copenhagen episode, except for the pregnancy story, as I find wife very annoying...and Barnaby's speech to the killer was too corny for words. But lots on bodies (though all male) and a new setting etc...still can't stand Barnaby. Boy, Nelson sure got a work out.

I could never stand Joyce, she was totally charmless, as is the current Mrs Barnaby.
The only thing showing a smidgeon of life is the mangy dog, and who wants to spend two hours looking at or for a dog. Or, indeed, spend any time at looking at of for a pesky dog. |

Very good 100th episode. I enjoyed the story and thought it was well-paced, with a good cast. Was pleased that I guessed the murderer early on.
It was interesting that the Barnabys had a girl when they had practically set up 'Benjamin Barnaby' in the Christmas episode. I guess they had to go with a girl when Fiona Dolman gave birth to one in real life (and as someone said, maybe the baby they're using is Fiona Dolman's daughter). |

I also could never stand Joyce - I always wanted Blue Eyes to have an affair or three!
Also not keen on the new sidekick, he's got no personality. |

I enjoyed this but I agree with other posters that the new sidekick has no personality at all. He's as bad as Dan Scott, remember him? Maybe Nelson can go down with a tummy bug and never return too.

![]() The problem for the producers is that it is difficult to find an actor who won't "act the pants off" Neil Dudgeon. He has enough problems with Sykes up-staging him in every episode. |

I honestly don't watch Midsomer Murders for the acting, just for the warm fuzzy glow.

Not keen on the new side kick either. No charisma whatsoever. The one the other week when she was away was the best one yet. I assume the actress had the baby when she was away and she's now padded? I don't mind the sidekick but he distracts me because he looks just like the cricketer Steven Finn! Same height ad build as well! |

I have never watched The Killing so I have no idea who was in this who was in that. Is it the two women cops?
