Thought last night's episode (Wine) was poor in a several ways. Apart from the usual plethora of plot holes.

None of the financials made any sense at all.

For a normal, non-psycho, kidnapping someone and putting them in a hole to keep two people apart is just too far fetched. The desired result would only be temporary and you'd end up with a considerable jail sentence.

For the second week running they've ended the programme with the four main regulars in the Barnaby's garden for a jokey scene. OK once, but most unwelcome as a trend, reminiscent of cheesy gunk from yesteryear.

Overall, still a firm favourite, though.

Why did Nelson choose the Police officer? It was obvious last night Kate kept hinting about wanting to be with him (thought there had been a few hints before but last night bought it all out) will be interesting to see where things go in the future

If it had been me, I'd have gone for Kate as well. But then I never liked Jaye Jacobs in Holby her character was whiny and lazy (well until the end when she bucked her ideas up).

I thought Kate made it quite plain (to Mrs B), that she, herself, was perfectly happy with her life the way it was - and thus, by implication, wasn't interested in a relationship.

I thought it a little odd as she was speaking as if she was quite a lot older than Nelson. (She looks too young to be settled into a 'tele every evening' lifestyle.

In real life she's having relations as to speak with lily allen's father (kate)

I thought the blonde lad was very camp and not likely to have been attracted to the girl.

Shes 40 in real life.

What an end to the series. Take that as you wish. Glad the murderer was who it was, I didn't like them from the start.

The young lad was a pain from the start and the rest of them were pretty rum, not usual for MM to have quite so many repulsive characters, but I suppose it worked.

I'd resigned myself ages ago that it had become just another detective series, rather than a very tongue in cheek, fun but cerebral detective show that it once was. But last nights production values were the worst of the series. It was as if most of it was filmed on a camcorder no better than my own one. It used to have a film type picture quality. Last night seemed to been have done on the cheap with no lighting, not sure if I'm describing it right, but it just seemed cheap.

I've been going mad trying to work out why the voice seemed so familiar but the face didn't.

The vilian in this programme is always the most unlikely, last night I went for the new nanny/aupair

I Googled her as she was in Benidorm and she sounded so familiar then and again last night. They sound just like each other.

Dog or tree?

Is it only myself, who not keen on Mrs B character. The way she treats Mr B, and find myself not warming to her at all.

She is much better than the previous Mrs B. I love the way she sees through Mr B and his supposed daftness. He is very good at his job but sometimes as with the some people real life defeats them and they struggle, just like with Mr B. Their love song was classic, he thought he had cracked it and bless her she went along with it, only Nelson could see through it. Sykes is just an on going story of their previous life before Betty. He was their child, Mr B's best friend and a good listener to his problems at work.
I love the new family, I did love the old team of Tom and Jones but not the added family they were a waste of screen time. Callie should have got to be a star of daytime TV and leave Midsommer behind her.

After watching the complete series I have come to the conclusion there is a rarer event than an Episode featuring an Ethnic character in Midsomer.

Namely that of any scenes depicting smoking whether indoor or outdoors.

It would seem that "Ash" prevails in those leafy suburbs, no one smokes even in Pub Gardens.

I actually think the writers are deliberately avoiding pairing up Nelson with Kate as it would be too like the relationship Lewis has with Laura. The link Kate and Nelson have is more like brother/sister than prospective lovers, and I hope they keep it that way as it adds to the storylines, not detracts from them.

I haven't seen all the latest series, but in one of them Kate says that Nelson was interested in magic as a child. So how long have they known each other and is he just a lodger at her place or do they share a house as equals.

Could we have Cully back as a guest in one episode. I really miss her.

It took me ages to work out who she sounded like! Didn't know it was her daughter though.

I'd never put Nelson with Kate, she seems too old for him.

Oh my goodness, so she is - Selina Griffiths - definitely a likeness. Hadn't realised until you pointed it out!

I've seen her in something else years ago but can't remember what. I remember at the time not knowing that she was Annette Crosbie's daughter but thinking 'Wow she sounds so much like Annette Crosbie' - then Googled her and indeed she was Crosbie's daughter! I've never in my life heard of a mother and daughter who sound so similar - not just the accent but the whole pitch and timbre of their voices.
