... Extremely disappointed when Neil Dudgeon appeared and can't take to him, his wife or dog ...
Boring and pointless as the accursed dog is, it has more acting ability in his left hind paw than Dudgeon.

He could save even what little effort he expends on the role by sitting at home and just phoning his lines in.

Couldn't be any less effective than he is now.

I like the new Barnaby - at least is an improvement on John Nettles who huffed and puffed and wheezed his way through the last couple of series he was in. And as for his boring, 'oh so perfect' wife and daughter! 'New' Barnaby's wife is 100% better! And I love his dog!!!
Have to agree, I remember a TV Burp where Phil Mitchell was shown as deflating and I thought of John Nettles. Joyce was so so dull and I really do not know what the hell Cully was there for.

Have to say I was sorry to see Scott go, he seemed a bit darker than Troy and Jones, wish the actor had stuck around a bit longer.

Looking forward to more dog - can't remember his name though.

Sykes!

I'm still very suspicious of Joyce Barnaby - it was beyond the realms of coincidence that she was a party to so many murders

Anyway, looking forward to the new series - escapism at its finest

Great!.

I need a laugh, and an episode of MM is always a giggle.

I preferred the older series. The gentle normality of Tom's home life with Joyce and Cully was a great contrast to the murder and mayhem of the main plotlines.

Thank you!

I've been going mad trying to work out why the voice seemed so familiar but the face didn't.
I was watching an old episode last night and was convinced at first that a teenage girl in it was a young Honeysuckle Weeks. Then I realised it wasn't her but thought how alike their voices, in particular, were. When the credits went up I realised it was her younger sister, Perdita.
They really do have almost identical voices, as well as looking quite alike.

Me!

I like her. Very . . . efficient

Nice to see Emma Cunniffe again (the Reverend). I remember her from The Lakes, and then Coronation Street

Is that the first episode without a murder? Didn't warm to Kam at all. We'll see how she continues.

According to the Midsomer Murders twitter feed -

The snap of Jason Hughes (JONES) and Tamzin Malleson (KATE) was taken at Tamzin's leaving party by the producer Phil Hunter.

Love Midsomer Murders but it's Sunday television for me, as it always was growing up.

It was always a joke in our house that we hated Culie and Joyce who are possible the most ghastly and annoying characters in television, a murder was never far away from those two. However the show wouldn't be the same without them.

With that being said I hope the final episode of this is the brutal murder of both said characters with Tom eventually being the culprit.

I liked it last night - no real Murders at all. Thought Kam was very efficient - sure she'll settle down soon!

I particularly liked the Undertaker and the Doctor - it suddenly clicked with me when they were rowing out into the lake what they were doing.

What killer? I thought it was rather a ridiculous plot, stretched out over 2 hours when 1 hour would have sufficed. The denoument was very hurried and I still don't understand why he hid the bodies.? I usually like this programme so hope it improves.

Because he never got to bury his brother he wanted to punish Felix by stopping him burying his Dad (and removing the nanny's body, someone he loved), and then ultimately killing him the way he believed his brother had been murdered.

It was fine, silly as always, but I quite enjoyed it, although, is it just me or does Nelson's head look like its grown a bit big for the rest of his body
