Boring, boring, boring....
Not sure it's the writing, the acting or Dudgeons laid back, couldn't care less approach, but the series is fast becoming a wonderful cure for insomnia. |

Must admit I've struggled with most of MM since John Nettles left. Always loved the series and was prepared to give Neil Dudgeon a go, as seen him in lots of things and always thought he was good, but to me he always seems to have a quizzical look, which carries him through most of the story. I just want him to look something else other than mildly amused or puzzled most of the time

Perhaps a little "acting" may help. He gives the impression that he's just watching the clock so that he can go home. |

The couple of episodes I've watched (and fast forwarded through a lot), he just looks bored, as if he can't believe he lives in an area worse than Oxford for murders and he finds the mode of murders too ridiculous to bother getting animated about!
BiB - you express it much better than I |

This episode was more like an episode of Grand Designs! Some lovely architecture.
I really can't get on with the new path. She is truly obnoxious! I find myself tuning in and everytime I wonder why putting aside the actors there has been a fundamental change in teh show and I can't quite put my finger on what it is...

Not as much fun as Martine McCutcheon being killed by a massive wheel of cheese.
That's Rodney Trotter's father-in-law!!! A few faces dotted about tonight - Ferdie from This Life too. |

The Daniel Fargo actor looks like he should have been in The League of Gentlemen or Psychoville. I think he looks like he could be Reece Shearsmiths dad.

This was much the same as last week's episode. I found it hard to believe how such a slightly built female could have done the murders and positioned the bodies as she did, Also she'd have had a hard time using a sledgehammer to break that stone/marble sculpture. The way she killed her husband dropping that giant stone ball on him his body should have burst. There was not a drop of blood to be seen.
Had they cast Julie T Wallace as the wife it may have made more sense. I don't mind the ridiculous methods of murder as long as the are credible. |

Yes, that threw me off somewhat. I assumed the murderer must be a strong person. I wondered about the wife of the couple running the activity centre for a while. Couldn't see a strong enough motive for all the murders.
Talking of motives I'm getting a bit fed up with plots in which there is a sudden revelation of some major fact that since we didn't know it earlier it wasn't possible to make a reasonable guess at the murderer. This plot device has been used a lot in MSM and Endeavour. |

Good episode last night I felt. It was enjoyable enough and I didn't guess the murderer at all, my OH did though, she guessed it from about half way through, if not earlier

I agree about her husband - he didn't look nearly squashed enough. |
