Cheers for that, sadly ITV has yet to develop a version of hub that works with the xbox one

Thanks.
I had forgotten about Goodnight Sweetheart.

I had assumed the killer wouldn't be the killer but one of the victims because they weren't deemed important enpugh to be on the opening credits. Have they ever done that before?

It was a good episode and i love both Michael Higgs and Michael Thomson so it was always going to be a winner for me.

I couldn't think who Butch was for ages, finally clocked on it was Andy Hunter.

Good episode tonight. An improvement on last weeks.

I recognised him straight away as PC Eddie Santini from The Bill.

One of the best of the series for me, a definite highlight. Except for the stupid shoving in our faces of Kam and Nelson and, what was that scene at the end all about? However, where the show itself is concerned, I enjoyed it so much last night. I was guessing right to the end

I enjoyed it, but wish Nelson and Kam would hurry up and become an item

Same here. Cannot stand Kam and have never warmed to Nelson. Apart from them it was a good episode.

Unlikely that Kam would have grown up with dogs and offered to look after Sykes. Asians are afraid of dogs, because of Rabies.

Good generalisation there! (NOT) When I was a child, our neighbour was Asian and she had a dog...I don't think you can make such a sweeping statement?

I'd look after Sykes any day of the week...he's adorable!

It was an ok episode and I didn't guess the killer, the interconnection of losses of children was well done.

However I did find the talk at the end was annoying. The guy was holding a blunt poker to her throat not a knife and could easily been overcome imo. Does Barnaby always have to use his cod psychology with every murderer with Nelson standing silently behind.

I have found the character Kam to be slightly annoying but this episode she was ridiculous trying to outdo Nelson in the dog caring stakes which was totally unrealistic.

The Koran forbids it.

Sorry sussed it was something to do with parentage from the very start.

The writers are getting too predictable, they need some new blood, pun not intended, to stop viewers working things out too easily. Im no Sherlock Holmes, but sorry the reason, if not the perpetrator has been so easy to spot all this season.

I enjoyed this episode - it was up there with the UFO episode as one of this series' best. I wasn't 100% sure which of the men it was as I also suspected the father of the first victim, but I did have my eye on the one who turned out to be the culprit, especially when he had that dramatic "I can't go through all that again" moment in the first half of the episode.

Since Betty said her first word a few episodes ago, I half-expected to see her take her first steps this series, but never mind. I like the way the show is using her and Sykes. Still don't really like the Nelson and Kam thing though as they just seem like two people who get along like a house on fire whilst pretending not to - as opposed to having romantic chemistry, which they completely lack. Hopefully the writers are keeping an eye on viewers' reactions to this sub-plot and will use that feedback to decide whether Nelson and Kam actually become a couple.

I found this episode really annoying. Apart from the continuing ineptitude on the part of the writers with the grotesquely clichéd Kam/Nelson thing, I wanted to know what was the deal with the mother being kept from her child. They may only have included it as a red herring, but such an odd situation - professional mother in stable environment not being allowed any contact with here child - needed to be properly explained.

Otherwise the writing is just slop.

Sadly, this does seem to be the case more and more with this once excellent series.

After having finished watching the new series this year. I have promised myself to NEVER watch another Midsomer Murders episode again!
Enough! - and what a waste of time it's been!
Totally pointless entertainment - Yes. I have watched all episodes, from the start of season 1.
This have gone from bad to a disaster for several years now.

The current series has become repetitive so here's my:

What will happen every week in the current series of Midsomer:

Mr & Mrs Barnaby will have there own cutesy little puke fest sickly sweet story either involving Sykes or the daughter

There will be at least one black or asian main character who will be built up to be the murderer but in the end it won't be them.

Nelson and Kam will have a will have a storyline where they will compete over something but neither of them will win out in the end.

At the final murder scene Barnaby will creep up on the suspect while they are explaining why they did they murders and normally either talk them out of killing or use Nelson as a decoy.

The final scene will always be a heartwarming scene between Barnaby and Mrs Barnaby and Sykes.

There will be a murder every second ad break to keep the viewers interested.

Made me smile - you have hit the nail on the head.
Also I realised I don't really like any of the characters.

That's about it, except that the final scene may well include Kam and Nelson.

Nelson, much like Aiden in Vera, has very little to do or say most episodes. I'm sure Jones was more involved with interogating suspects etc.

Jones was a much more diverse character, he tried to find relationships, he did sporting events, had a past and had a granny who knew everyone in Midsomer.

Nelson what do we really know? What do we want to know? Would it really be of interest to the storyline to be fair I think an unknown Nelson is not bad, we never really knew Troy apart from he liked girls but never seem to have had one, he hated gays and couldn't drive.
