Did we not meet the new Mrs Barnaby at the end of Tom Barnaby's tenure and if so wasn't Jones there at the birthday do? In which case why was he introduced to Mrs Barnaby as if they've never met before?
I'm enjoying the eccentrics, oh and they missed a trick with Mrs Barnaby getting the house ready she should have said 'Harvey' helped her

Haven't most of them been in Midsomer Murders before? Or maybe they're all just regulars on the TV crime show circuit?
I'm really not liking the chemistry between Jones and Barnaby so far, and I'm not buying Jones as a hard-man lothario, either! |

I had hoped that last week's dire episode was a one off,(bad acting, dreadful script, cliched characters etc.) but sadly judging by this episode it appears it just laid the foundations for the series. Even the adverts are a welcome break!!

They seem to have completely run out of ideas as far as the plot goes.
I feel like I've got déjà vu - it's all been done before. |

Thanks for answering, but I was convinced at the do there were Tom & Joyce, Jones, the coroner, the female police officer and the new Mr & Mrs Barnaby
![]() I hope you're not mistaking the new Mrs Barnaby for Cully.
