As a current sky user i am looking at freesat+. can i use my current sky dish or is this incompatible and have to have a new dish.

Confused???????

You can use your current dish - just remember if you want to use a PVR you'll need two spare outputs on it. It doesn't of course matter If you are planning on replacing your current Sky PVR.

...any suggestions for a recommended box, or more importantly ones to avoid? have around £250 to play with.

the Humax FoxSat looks ok for us?

Had mine since launch,great piece of kit.

Argos have the 320 GB version for £254.99 or the 500Gfor £299.99.

I also have a FOXSAT-HDR, and aside from a few minor niggles, it's great. I would say it has more minor niggles than the only other receiver I've used (Panasonic G20 TV), but the G20 TV has more major problems, like not actually being a PVR

surely you can connect an external HDD so it will at least record one channel?

Yes, but then you can't watch any other channels.
