..I'm on a t-Mobile £10-00 per month 'top up' payg (with UNLIMITED internet and UNLIMITED texts)...

With my old reliable Nokia 5800 I can do full internet /email / texting / satnav / Facebook /Twitter /LBC app (radio) / You tube / in fact anything I want plus a bit of useage for phone calls from my £10-00 payg....

Is there any reason to change to get a new 'wonder phone' ?

Very tempted to go for something but --WHY ????

....suggestions !!!!!

You would have to pay a lot more than you currently are to get a new wonder phone. TBH, I would just wait a few more months and then get a Nokia N8 - it will be significantly cheaper than now considering Nokia are abandoning symbian.

the experience of a more modern phone will be significantly better than the 5800. even when you look at the raw specs and say my phone can do all of that in practice it doesn't compare to a modern phone.

but that will cost you.

My plan was to sell the 5800 for about £70 to put towards the cost of an Orange San Francisco. In the end Mrs finbaar kept the 5800. As for the difference, well the SF (which can be unlocked for free) even as it cones with the stock orange ROM is loads nicer to use. Nice largish capacitive screen and zippy user interface. However mine is rooted and is running a custom Android 2.2 ROM (all very easy - MoDaCo.com for details) and it fan-bloody-tastic. When I go back and use the 5800 it is just sooo klunky. There is no reason to pay more than £99 to get a wonder phone.
