Poly Styrene
Sad to read about Poly, now in a hospice, with cancer.
Germ Free Adolescence & Oh Bondage were great records of their time, & still sound good today. Hope things can improve for Poly & she is at least comfortable. http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2011...rene-interview |

That is really sad news.
Germ Free Adolescence is a song that has truly stood the test of time and the lyrics are still very apt today! |

Announced today that she has died. Black Christmas was great and was the first song I had heard from her for years discovered purely by chance while surfing. RIP

Bloody hell, only dug out the album Germ Free Adolescence again this weekend because of a thread on here.
Really shocked by this, RIP Poly

Feared the worst when the interview came out in early March, as the cancer had spread to her spine & lungs, but still a shock to find out that she has passed on.
