Sometimes the touch screen seems to freeze and doesn't respond to any touches.

I think it is because of the new pinch to zoom function.

If the screen is touched in such a way to produce a little 'zoom' then it goes out of sync.

If you do a larger zoom pinch then it seems to come back again.

Can anyone else confirm this?

Thanks for confirming that. I didn't know about the text entry crash but have only used it on DS.

Does making a larger pinch to zoom action re sync the touch screen or do you have to restart?

I've been trying Opera Mini 6 on an Android handset as well, sometimes I notices that it does hang. The solution I've found (and I might get crucified for this!) is that if it hangs, if you use Advanced Task Killer as a widget on your home screen, come out of Opera on to your home screen, press the ATK icon on your home screen which will kill some tasks, then open up Opera Mini 6 again, there's a blank screen for a few seconds before your last page reappears and you can carry on again.

Yes that's what I do too.

But have you tried pinching to zoom when it hangs?

It worked for me once but it might not have been the same kind of hang.
I think it is hanging because the pinch to zoom goes out of sync with the screen.

It hangs on me regardless of pinching to zoom or not, was trying it earlier today, didn't zoom in at all and it froze on me after a few minutes.
My phone in question is an unlocked & debranded Orange San Francisco/ZTE Blade.

One good thing I've noticed is that if there are hyperlinks close to each other, such as page numbers on threads, the page will zoom in close so you can choose one of them more easily.

The other thing is that the setting for turning off the navigation bar doesn't stick when you exit Opera Mini and you have to set it again when you reload.
