Hope you're improving by the day Musty. In the meantime, your poet friends, old and new, are holding the fort for you.

Thanks B. for reading my poorly spelt last poem, ****! that won't get past the censor software. My Ich's a different bloke you see. As tthey'd say in Parliament I fully endorse my esteemed colleague's wishes for the honourable Musty 's health, I'm politics'ed out BTW. Bye for now poem no. 10 coincidentally on the way. F.

Fascinating Rhythms NPM #10

Exotic location
the girl, an ocean
ozone, a waft
of suntan lotion.
She is walking
men are gawking,
eyes appraise
a body born
for warming rays.
Hypnotic hips
go swaying,
her sashaying
along the beach.
Pink lips part
as if she sips a
succulent peach.
Some males think,
was that a wink?
Imagination does
its wishful thing
that and man's fatal
fascination.
A bossa nova's
playing over and
over a figment
from Ipanema
is fading, samba
sounds are still
pervading so all
that remains sax
and marimba
refrains and a
final ... ah.

Hopes seconded of course.

Hahahaha! As I was reading that Frank, it made me think of "The Girl from Ipanema" - and what do you know - a few lines later, there it was. I love that rhythm always makes me want to dance.

Digital spy,
I cannot lie,
makes me laugh,
and at times cry.

There are young and old,
both typing bold.
'Bout todays news,
with differing views.

But in the end,
as posts we send,
we are all a digital friend.

Flower, that is lovely. It should be framed and hung in Digital Spy's office - or perhaps at the top of the forum pages (there's a perfect space for it on the right).

Hello Biz, have a little rest.

The Rest

Put your feet up
have a rest
make some tea
it's the best
unwind and relax
then have a nap
wrapped up warm
with cat on lap.

 I really did yawn there. Thanks Sandy, I'll take your advice, but you can keep the cat.

Sorry for going to sleep on you Sandy. I was probably up the wooden hill before you posted.

Afternoon poets all - hope you're feeling creative today.

There is a thread on the Spy
Into which poets will fly
Today not yet
So have a bet
That tonight some gifted will try?

Hmmm. I wouldn't a gambler make.

Frank's missed his daily poem I fear.
Let's hope his mojo gets back into gear
Or when Musty gets back
The thread might just lack
Any verses to bring him good cheer.

Flu.

I wish I could write
something sunny and bright
like Musty does so well,
but I'm down with the flu
and all I can do
is describe my current hell.

I'm shorter and thinner
through not eating dinner.
All I can drink is hot tea.
The shivering fever.
The god phone heaver.
The virus sure got me.

I'm turning to snot.
Can't stay in my cot
a minute without coughing.
So I'm sat in my chair
trying to bear
to breathe around the frothing.

It's not nice at all,
but at least in the fall
I qualify for the jab
Just need to survive
'cause being alive
is really pretty fab.

Sorry for a bit too much info there. Just trying to get something off my chest.

A brilliantly graphic description of your sufferings Archiver, and credit to you for making the effort to share it with us. Particularly loved the first verse and the ending.

Here's hoping you make a swift and complete recovery. I bet you'll be first in the queue for that jab.

Sun and Rain

The sun was there today
shone so bright as what may
now it's gone to have a sleep
rain has fallen and had a peep.

Managed to get a few hours sleep earlier, which I take as a sign that the worst is over..

Staff of Life

Our baker lady sells exceptional bread
we townees love her farmhouse loaves
keeps locals well fed and sweet so not
fed up manna/manner by each behoves.
She dispenses goods with a willing arm
this staff of life serves well enough for
its toothsomeness and dusky crust not
just, above all else disarming smile/charm.
Crusty treats cross counter she propels,
at cheeriest greeting sweet Nicki excels.
Kneaded in bakes is the troubles it takes.

mean city moment

My office it's the crack of noon,
I look up across a desk of clutter
push desolutely at the mildewed
roll and butter of last night's late
discarded last supper Oh Christ
was I hungry like a con at a first
cathouse met upon release. This
yellow grease near unleashes the
now swilling last belt of booze that
I swallow before I slump for a few
zees. Jeez right then I could eat a
longhorn's steak with the horns still
attached. Trixie is soon dispatched
for coffee and doughnuts, for this
shamus needs his guts filled hitting
mean streets you can get killed out
there. Didn't even look long at those
young legs and a man could die for
dem pegs. Back she comes cheery
with goodees for your's truly's belly.
"Sweetie," I complain, "you've got
custard damn it and I wanted jelly."
No jury would convict if I even shot
that godamm girl she didn't cut the
mustard so those squishy messes
and stupid can both go right to hell.

Boston Marathon

People out for their run

together this occasion

mainly for fun. Boston

Mass. the location on

Patriot's Day. They had

the Marathon in the sun.

But evil would interevene

and dark deeds be done.

May they get those killers

soon (every rotten son').
