Thanks - I've edited it. I often do that, that why I always check, but the fact that it hadn't appeared threw me.

It's easily done I'm working on a poem about dancing Biz, but it's slow going as the Avebury ones are still coming thick and fast

Ooer, it's gone very quiet - I'm out tonight so I won't be able to contribute until tomorrow. I wonder if I'll bump into Rodney's wife and Miranda in a nice pub tonight?

I'd advise taking a good friend with you Musty, who isn't half mad.

One Swan

One swan on the pond this morn
Where the willows root
Floated in a sun reborn
Wearing its white suit.

I, Banana

I never shall grow straighter,
It's certain that I'll tend
To curve both now and later
For I banana, bend.

While apples go with Eden
And patients munch on grapes
I'm sold from Maine to Sweden
And also feed the apes.

I keep emotions guarded,
A fruit without a pip,
My coat if once discarded
Is that on which you slip.

My fave song's Mellow Yellow,
I like pop, yes I do
By that Donovan fellow,
Bananarama too.

Placed on an album cover,
It shocked me when I found
The band was like no other,
The Velvet Underground!

I suddenly felt trendy
Through Andy Warhol's whim,
No longer bland and bendy,
An icon thanks to him.

But being no head tripper
I made sure life stayed real,
My coat's still got a zipper
For anyone to peel.

I'll never match James Garner
Or Brad Pitt being chased,
What pleases I, banana
Is how you love my taste.

Thank you Biz I think you're a beautiful person. I've had a few too many tonight, but don't worry, I didn't meet Miranda I'm always falling in love though, how embarrassing I'm such a fool, but the poetry will go on regardless. It's half past one and the first I've ever been drunk on the thtread, how sad.

I know I'm going to regret this post in the morning but none of us are perfect. Maybe a year of major stress and health issues does that to you. George Best forever, goodnight Biz, my dear friend xxx

'Morning Musty. Hope it is a good one and the hangover isn't too agonizing. We're all allowed a little self-indulgence from time to time.

Being in love is a good thing, I just hope she reciprocates.

How embarrassing My apologies to you and the thread Biz. I was pretty sozzled, which is very rare for me these days I also left two jacket potatoes in the oven all night from one o'clock till dawn. They came out slightly overdone The thread won't suffer my drunken ramblings again, I'll make sure of that. I have a couple of poems in the works outside of the Avebury book candidates and hopefully I'll post one of them later on There is no 'she' Biz; generally falling in love recurs constantly without results for me - which at least makes a good source of poetry

By the way, here's the Velvet Underground Andy Warhol album cover from I, Banana

I haven't heard of that before, although I'd probably recognize some of the tunes - they tend to stick in the memory for a very long time.

Sorry to hear about the potatoes.

They had the texture of hand grenades - thankfully they didn't explode The poem I was going to post was written down, but at the moment I can't find it among my notes. Drat, though I can remember certain sections, if I don't find the piece of paper it'll have to be a complete rewrite.

It'll turn up when you're not looking for it. I think today you just need to rest and recuperate.

I'm not sure about its closing time as I usually leave before eleven if I do go. It was night two of a karaoke marathon Sandy, I went down there Friday too actually. I've never fancied karaoke, but one evening of it contains every emotion going. Fortunately I didn't pick up the microphone On the next page we'll get back to poetry

There's always a next time

Here's one for the next page

Poetry are
words that flow
words that grow
words that sow
like flowers on a page
that turn to and fro
forwards then back
to a beguine
a rhythmical tune
a melodic harmony
of words that glow
of words that know
of words that so
Poetry are

Oh wow, I love this one Sandy What a great rhythm, it really enforces the points about poetry. 'Of words that glow, of words that know' pretty much sums it up for me Thanks Sandy, we were getting a bit low on material thanks to my night out

Thanks Musty

It's only one day, even Rome wasn't built in a day

There was a little quote earlier from Countryfile that I wrote down as I thought it was quite lovely.

'A walk around a garden should prove to be an exciting journey.'
