The Waterfall

The path I walked was serpentine
Where I first heard that sonnet
Read out by nature's voice divine,
Then soon I came upon it;

A waterfall with waves like milk
Foamed white and undefended,
Its water seemed as rich as silk,
How lovely it descended.

Surrounded by deep forest sheen
Its secret home was hooded,
An overlooked and pleasant scene
In regions thickly wooded.

Tides fell in colonnades onto
A stream where they collected
The brightest stars of silver-blue,
Like diamonds all connected.

My mind recalls the waterfall,
What harmony was seen there,
I felt as if I'd heard the call
Of god within his green lair.

What a bummer in the summer Sandy - a good poem though
Thanks, it was about The Chelsea Flower Show, I've never managed to go and see it but I'll probably try for next year.

Spotted some blooms over the wall at Kew Gardens this morning.

I haven't been to Kew Gardens for years Sandy - I seem to remember statues of mythic creatures like griffins there.

I've visited Kew Gardens a long while ago. The greenhouse was very warm but quite pretty with all the lilypads in the pond. I didn't notice any griffins

Dancing the Beltane

Far from the urban hell-train
Where bluebells multiply
The faeries dance the Beltane,
They boogie, leap and fly.

Small cottages have lush rooms
But inside they can’t stay
When at the magic mushrooms
The Beltane Sun Band play.

Each twirl is such a highlight,
They synchronise or go
Their own bright way at twilight
And set the dusk aglow.

A barn owl watches puzzled,
A sleeping toad awakes,
If forest mead is guzzled
The faeries make mistakes.

They won’t sleep until morning,
With May the first begun
It stops without a warning,
The Beltane dance is done.

I finished the last poem of the Avebury suite yesterday, but immediately got an idea for another one Either way most of the work's done. Now comes the easy part, typing them all into a computer file from my notebook. A lot of fine-tuning's still needed but it feels good to be near completion

A pub supper's on the agenda followed by probable sozzle-ation Sandy Just popped back for a sec. This page is a bit thin on poetry, but that's inevitable now and then with so few writers. It always picks up again Right, I really am off now

My Tears

Look, through the kaleidoscope
as the shapes and colours collide
round and round there as it falls
like the sea as along with the tide
reflection of sparkles and wonderous of light
held near when and with what as she sighed
pretty how intense a sparkling hue
so light as my tears of then as she cried.

Future Rider.

In tomorrowmorrow land;
everything will be grand
and exactly half price.
Everyone will be nice.

All the bad eliminated.
All the sad rejuvenated.
Nothing but the very best
and as high as Everest.

Replicating machines
build the finest limousines.
Then drive us to our dreams
of when we were has beens.

Like roller coaster clowns
we survive the ups and downs
casting pitfalls in our stride.
In future - we ride.

(Inspired by the What Will Happen In The Future? thread. )
