As for not working over Wi-Fi, that seems odd. Everything okay at your router end?”
I have a .gmail.com email address so yeah it's a Gmail account, and I'm using the Gmail app.
I have spent the last half hour testing it. When my phone is connected via 3G, the new email sent from a totally different email address (yahoo and aol) arrives within 60 seconds. When my phone is connected via Wi-Fi, nothing comes through, and I have to manually go into the app and click refresh.
My Wi-Fi is working fine no problems.
Edit > just read that wi-fi is disabled when the screen is locked which is why no emails come through. Thats a shame.
