Has anyone managed to get 1gb of mobile internet out of Vodafone and not having a Iphone? Only reason I ask this as I'm trying to sort a matter out. Basically I know people who dont have a Iphone on Vodafone who have managed to get an extra 500mb on top of the 500mb you get. I've been told by Vodafone that this only applies if you had a iphone and switched to another brand after your contract ended.

Anyone?????

Yes, I have a HD2 and when I originally signed up(Nov 2009) the contract stated "unlimited data" subject to FUP. When Vodafone changed the terms to 500mb, they were in breach of contract, so people on similar contracts to me, who complained, either had a choice of cancel their contract early with no termination fee, or have the data allowance permanently upped to 1gig. I chose the latter.

they do 1GB for any phone you want but you will have to take a contract of £60 over 18months.

It's only £5 charge for the next 500mb over your allowance so you are better off just busting the allowance and paying that.

Same, as I wasn't going over the 500 I don't think I could've cancelled, but it's nice knowing I have the extra when 500 seems to be becoming the norm.

I have 1gb data for my Desire. I pay £25 per month for the data, unlimited texts and 600 minutes voice calls.

I got my xperia x10 in DEC off t-Mobile unlimited internet (3gig allowance) unlimited text 1000 Min's 18 month contract £20 a month its a good deal after haggling with them cos Ive been with them about 14 years when it was one 2 one
The fair usage policy on t-mobile ain't really policed as far as I'm aware cos on average my phone is hooked up to the PC on a night and i DL about 15/20 gig a month and they have never said a word.....
I got the email in Jan saying from Feb there would be a data limit of 500 meg on the internet for everyone but then 2 days later got a call saying i was exempt because i had renewed my contract in DEC so it would not apply to me and it was new costumers only..

haha get a life pal,
Its also the case of always on smart phones and the Fact that every new phone is data hungry so hence they put a data cap on all new contracts this feb so they can get more money from the customer!
If it was a such a worry for the network for "People Like Me" dont you think they would implement a system to stop it? Errrm no,
So please think before spouting random silly comments!!
I Thank You.....

Despite your rather unpleasant attitude they will put a stop to you in the end and you are part of the reason there are fair usage policies.

The other point is the moral aspect, you know that you have a 3GB allowance and yet you use 5 times more.

As far as I know Three network is the only network that gives a very good deal on data usage with there "All you can eat Data" - its not unlimited, but never heard of anyone being penalised for using to much and just for the record last month I used 655 MB of data on my iphone 4.

No it IS because of people like you that abuse it, that we are all now in the 500MB / 1G boat, we had a bloke at work with a similar attitude, he could use 3gig in a morning, but he hasd the plug pulled, he is now capped at 1Gig pm on his iphone and ipad, he is not that happy

quite happy with my 3 Mifi that gives me 15GB allowance a month. Add my vodafone 500MB allowance and i have an ample amount for my pc when travelling, my Blackberry when the vodafone allowance is used up and my ipad..

perfect.

That maybe true and I agree with what you're saying, but the networks really shouldn't advertise it as unlimited if it's not.
