Just discovered that unlike previous years, the compilation albums are available on ITunes UK, although individual tracks are not.

Silly buggers, can't see many of these selling. Must say though, astute of Nigel to realise that there is a UK audience who would like to be able to buy the songs.

Maybe they'll put the individual tracks up at some point.

I discovered these last week. I found Lauren, in particular, is much improved in the studio versions

It wouldn't have been Nigel's decision.

You can now also buy David Cook's Don't You (Forget About Me) in the UK too. Good timing with the double bootage this week

I really like Haley's , and also Casey's.
In general, the tracks are better produced this week, imo.

Thanks Chi. Elton John was another pretty good week overall, and the studios are better produced, I agree.

I liked Haley's, Lauren's and Casey's too. And Paul's was better than his live performance (for me, for you)

Thanks for the link. These studio recordings are a really good way to hear who'd sound good on the radio....

Not necessarily as it's not the type of material they may be recording or the way it would be produced.

The show's/record company's idea behind making them avaiable internationally this year is to see who has appeal in different countries but they none of them are really taking off anywhere.

Thanks for the link

I always go to Haley's recordings first, I absolutely love her voice. She sounds fantastic, as usual. I would love to hear her sing one of Amy Winehouse's songs.

Muse are my favourite band, and I love 'Uprising' so it's a bit weird to hear an Idol production of it, but James sounds good, much better than his live performance.

'Dance With My Father' always brings a tear to my eye, and I think this was perfect for Jacob. Beautiful.

I'm glad Casey chose 'Harder To Breath', as it's the best Maroon 5 song out of them all. Although there isn't much range to Casey's voice, I really liked this.

This is the first one of Stefano's songs that I've checked out so far. I suggested on another blog that I thought he would suit singing Ne-Yo's 'Beautiful Monster' this week, but I guess 'Closer' was just as good a fit for him. Ne-Yo was a good choice, and he sounded OK.

This week's recordings have been great, some good choices made by the Idols.
