Sorry the link doesn't work but according to the Daily Star.

Apparently Jason has already been asked to appear next year and will be the highest paid judge. If this is true, I for one am quite happy about it. I think the show would be dull without him and his points are always valid although phrased rather unfortunately sometimes. Wonder if Karen will reprise her current role though. I do hope Emma isn't back.

Shame. Not surprising though, he might be an objectionable idiot but he creates controversy, and controversy means ratings.

I'm with you on that one. I hope Jason IS back next year. Yes, he does have a way of opening his mouth and shoving his foot in it but that's just him. He does give constructive criticism if a tad on the 'ummmmmmmmm' oooopps a daisy side LOL!

It drives me potty when folk liken him to Emma and say 'what is he doing as a judge, he doesn't skate' etc.

He's is/was a dancer and a choreographer, so that is his input into the show which is after all, called 'Dancing' on Ice. Emma is another kettle of fish, what she knows about dancing or indeed skating you could most likely write down on a postage stamp. In my opinion of course

It makes me chuckle, when I read some threads about how terrible Jason is for speaking his mind then the poster goes on to slate Jason in rather a colourful fashion themselves. But that seems ok it would appear.

Agreed even though he is kind of a ridiculous human being and says some over-the-line stuff sometimes (such as the chromosomes comment this year), I do think he is a good judge. His overall points tend to be on the money.

PLEASE can they get rid of Emma next year (and maybe bring Nicky back).

How disappointing that the producers have asked him back, I'm disgusted.

Higher salary than Robin? If I was Robin I'd tell them to shove the job.

All we need now is Nicky back instead of Emma

If Robin left ITV would probably replace him with Biggins - I mean they seem to have something against skating experts on the show.

And the pros are probably on a fraction of what Jason earns.

According to:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...ght-price.html

he hasn't been signed up yet as he says he wants double what he got this year or he'll walk.

"The Australian choreographer, who is paid £100,000 to be a judge, wants double that to return to the panel next year, according to the People.
He said: 'I AM that show. Without me it is dull. I know they want me on the next series but they are going to have to pay what I’m worth.'"

So the celebs and professional skaters have nothing to do with the show - it would survive without them and viewers would tune in to see just him and no-one else? If he really believes he IS the show, he's a delusional fool.

Do you think he's just signed his death warrant?

Could be if it's true. I know ITV like controversy & headlines he brings to the show but he really isn't worth that much, even his most ardent supporters must admit that.

How much are T&D paid? Think they are the only ones who show would not survive without.

I'd rather they call his bluff - to be honest they would be better saving money & paying more to get some better celebs.

When his points are 'valid' -- valid does not = correct -- they are about relatively unimportant details.

He discredits the whole show and should not be returning.

Best judge by far.

Gives an honest and accurate critique and doesn't sugarcoat.

The show would miss him massively.

I'd say he's also the judge that the contestants themselves want to impress the most, as it provides a real sense of achievement.

Time ITV called his bluff - it surely is a disgrace that he is paid more than a former Olympic gold medallist on a skating show.

He probably earns more in one evening on the show than the professional and celeb skaters (bar Katona) each get for the entire series.

I would suggest he is replaced by Mrs Brown (off Mrs Brown's boys) - she/he could be offensive and funny for a much lower fee.

If the role is to insult people and to tell them that they not only are shit but look like it too then I'm quite happy to do it for £50,000

But why does he deserve the highest salary on the show?

Karen would be a great counterpoint to Jason - he can dish it out but he can't take it. Go Karen!

There's no point in all this speculation. The show hasn't even been commissioned for next year yet, let alone contracts signed.

Still, for the time being (hopefully for good), goodbye Jason - glad you won't be trying to dominate Sunday evenings at least for a while.
