Going into the final, I was leaning ever so slightly towards Laura & Colin, but I changed my mind by the end of tonight - Sam & Brianne became my favourites and I'm very pleased they won

Yeah I still think it was better. The Irish dancing number lacked something for me. It wasn't special enough for a final performance. They are lucky to get what they did in my books!

I think Laura had been the most consistent and had improved the most but I really think on a skills level there was no differentiating between the two so a well deserved win for Sam and a good final, it must have been damn close though!

I was expecting it to be like big brother in this forum, everyone going mad at eachother slagging the other contestants off etc! Good to see it's not like that

Well done - Sam & Brianne - I thought Sam had blown it a couple of weeks ago (& it was his to lose) as the others were closing in & all the silly peripheral stuff but over the 3 performances he edged it. I am a fan of his pure skating skills but well done Chloe & Laura too for a great show!

I'm also pleased they won, was supporting Chloe until a couple of weeks ago when Sam won me over. Well done to Laura and Chloe for getting to the finals.

Sam was better than Laura throughout on Sunday. That Bolero is IMO the best one there's ever been on DOI. Glad the GBP saw things the same way I did and delighted that talent has won out over nasty tabloid stories

As much as I was voting for Laura, I'm happy to admit Sam was outstanding and consistent all through the final so he really deserved the crown.

More importantly it was the most exciting and unpredictable final ever so well done to all 3 couples.

Sam was my favourite all through the series but I never thought he'd actually win it because his prior skating experience would always lessen the impact of his "journey" - I never think it's good to look too accomplished too soon.

But on the night that mattered most he really pulled out all the stops and probably performed better than he had all series - very committed to all his moves but with more control than he's sometimes shown - and that must have swung it for him (along with having better routines, IMO).

Good to have a close final again - not had one of those since Chris v. Suzanne - and I enjoyed the whole night.

Its always nice when the best skater wins on an ice skating show - well done Sam.

Another one who's delighted that Sam won! Chloe was my favourite this year but I love all 3 finalists, so it was a great show and a very exciting competition. It was always going to come down to who was best on the night, and that was easily Sam IMO, so he totally deserved to win!
