ITV could have saved us all the bother by crowing him the winner back in January.

Did he - it didn't look like that to me a couple of weeks ago when he was bottom 2.

I was convinced he would be in the skate off last week with Laura - with Jason and Emma sending him home.

It was certainly no foregone conclusion - he won cos he was the best on the night.

I'm not sure I agree with this - he was even in the skate off - I felt that it was only the Bolero that ensured a win for Sam and Brianne.

Coming into the final week I thought Sam was going to finish 2nd at best due to Laura and Chloe improving every week and threatening his top position at the leaderboard, and the whole fake romance saga. However, he raised his game tonight and his Bolero was imo the best I've seen in a final yet. Well done to him and Brianne

I'm so glad Sam won, he really was the best, though Laura did very well tonight, too. I felt the final top three positions were very fair. Well done to all of them. I don't think the result was a foregone conclusion, however, as Sam has been in a skate off and the scoring tightened up a lot over recent weeks.

Open your eyes...it is all contrived and fixed. They knew he would win from the off, but they tried to disguise the fact by introducing fixes...I mean twists... and the like.

It is time for ITV to produce quality programming.

Its been time for that since 1955, but I think most of us have given up hope and settled for what we can get

Don't be taken in. ITV didn't want the 'forgone conclusion' card to be played again this year, so they tried to imply that it wasn't a forgone conclusion by introducing twists, drama etc. The producers are in control all the time. They totally fix it. The same with Britain's Got Talent and The Shit Factor.

Sam was the best from week one. Sam winning was not a surprise at all. I could have told you back in January that he would win...same with Ray Quinn. It was a total forgone conclusion.

Really - I thought he had blown it a couple of weeks ago with the peripheral stuff & the improvements in Laura & Chloe week on week - actually I thought he would come 2nd before tonight even though I loved the superior skating skills - really enjoyed this year though - congrats Sam & to Laura & Chloe

As the series progressed it really wasn't.

Well you shouldn't. Switch ITV off. Boycott the network. It is cheap and nasty.

It was...you have officially been taken in by the spin machine at ITV PLC.

No probs with Sam's win apart from the fact that he's danced on ice on cruise ships. I know Kyran skated before DOI but he hadn't danced on ice. Seems a bit of an unfair advantage.

Did he actually dance on ice?

Well, some of the judges last year said it wasn't a foregone conclusion that Hayley would win, when it clearly was.

So who knows?

The show would have more cred., if it featured non-ice skaters and panellists with a professional ice skating background.

Less of the old, more of the realist.

Look, all these shows are planned, plotted and scripted to create maximum interest and by default, ad revenue...that is all ITV care about...the wonga!
big bang theory

what an overhyped contestant sam was,he should never have won.

but well done public you have picked the dullest contestant to win this years dancing on ice.

ITV can do lots of things - but they cannot rig a public vote!

According to Gubba, yes he did. I have it recorded but it could take some time to find which week it was.
