Enjoyed The Final More By Not Being On The Forum

I observed the dances better and enjoyed it more by not letting comments get under my skin and turning me against or for any of the celebs

My thoughts of tonight

Liked T&Ds Bolero (would love to see them do something else from thier past though)

I thought Sams group showdance was overmarked but still a little better than Lauras or Chloes, I also thought Lauras was better than Chloes
IMO It looked like Sam got more help from T&D than the girls
I also think the rib thing was quite well acted by Sam;

I thought in the repeat dances Laura was the best
then Chloe and Sam third (IMO the Irish dance of his is overrated and its the music that made that dance not the skating)

IMO the right two on skill and performance got through (take notice R&J shouting and screaming doesnt help to get your daughter to the end)

Now the Bolero, I thought it was six and two threes although Sam seemed to bring his acting well into it
I decided I like Lauras more but I think its because I cant take to Sam as I think he has told porikies/ overacted about certain things over the weeks

I still say Chris Dean has been so transparent about favoring Sam, you can see a lot of his choreography in Sams dances

Loved Jason taking his hat off to Laura IMO jasons favorite

Emma is still a waste of space IMO Chloe was her fave after Jeff

Robin IMO liked Both Sam and Lauras ice skating better than Chloes

Sam & Brianne partnership is so false both are too ambitious IMO

Laura & Colin a nice relationship where Colin IMO respects Laura for keeping up with him and going for it

Chloe & Michael another good relationship where IMO Micheal admires Chloes journey

Still I cant complain it was a good final and the best thee were there

I agree with everything you have said.

For me, I enjoyed the final more by not really having a firm favourite going into it - which was a novel experience really!

I think this allowed me to see things more objectively than I normally do.

What struck me was how Sam really came alive when it mattered. Each of his three performances made me sit up and take notice. He never took his foot off the pedal. Worthy winner.

But the girls did themselves proud too

Laura edged it as my favorite last week but I didnt mind Sam winning even though he was the one who I least liked in the final

I just wanted good skaters in the final

I stayed off the forum for exactly the same reason - in order I was not influenced by posters here. I was disappointed with some of the nasty posting about each of the finalists - I can even see some anti Sam barbs here so it cannot claim to be without bias. Everyone has their favs but if you look at the pure skating skills Sam was superior, Laura's was the best partnership & Chloe had an endearing quality. Over the 3 skates tonight Sam was best although I did favour Laura going into tonight. I can see why the OP preferred Laura's style but analytical review it is not

Totally agree with you Sid, at times he really did look like a pro. Good final in that anyone of them could have won it, but in the end the right person won it on the night.

Sam never made me sit up or take notice. I thought he was boring and not worth the time it took to watch him.

And I agree with slappers that the show is more enjoyable when not reading the forum.

Hey Laura

His Bolero sealed it. Best one on DOI to date I reckon. I was moved enough to vote (and I never intended to!)

Ooh Sid I actually disagree with you there! Clare's is still my favourite.

Loved Sam & Brianne tonight though, they really fought for it in the final. Delighted they won!

I've forgotten what Clare's was like, and she was one of my favourite contestants!

Donal's was alright but up until tonight, most Bolero's have left me pretty underwhelmed.

His Bolero was good & that's coming from a non Sam fan - I actually liked both of them tonight for the first time since series 2. But I have to say that Ray & Maria's bolero is easily the best.
