Yep, i posted that earlier through my tethered iPhone. Seeing as its 'all you can eat' they don't really care what you do with it, even PAYG.

not that i know of, if so they haven't been very strict with it for me yet.

Mind you i don't even recall having any notification of them doing this either.

Only for new contracts after 24/6/10 as far as I know. They've never charged me any extra for going over 500mb and I have several times.

They did however have unlimited data as a 'free promotion' until September for new contracts if I recall correctly. That was the case on my wife's iPhone contract (which is capped at 500mb).

The One Plan is a different proposition. The PAYG AYCE deal we are currently offering does not allow tethering and therefore the use of a smartphone in this way would be outside of our terms and conditions. We’re keen to for you to guys to make the most of AYCE data on PAYG but we don’t support tethering on this plan.

Nope me nether.

Just checked on my o2 and my unlimited web bolt on is free and active with no end date, for the record I did 1.9gb last month.

I suppose it helps my contract renewal date is listed as sometime in August 2007.

As I said all these modern o2 tariffs are really poor value by comparison.

But they don't block it, is what i mean. Which other networks do.

They may say they enforce it, but i have used it plenty and not heard any warnings, and if they were that bothered, they should block it in the first place on the phone.

Wi-Fi was not clear on website unless i missed it.

Tethering - So does VF, I'm tethering now

50MMS - Use email and besides, 50MMS does not justify the £15 price difference

I'm on Virgin Mobile (Sim Only)

I get

600 Cross Network Mins
3000 Virgin to Virgin Mins
3000 Texts
1GB Data (I tether too, tethering now via android Wi-Fi Hotspot App)

for the grand sum of £10.

O2 for the same £10 (plus 50p) will offer me

100 mins
500 texts

No Same network calls and for the 1GB data (that I get and use at the moment) i'd have to pay another £10.

O2 Signal is Poop and now their tariffs are too. I know many people have slated Virgins Signal in the past but I've no issue and from next months they'll be sharing Everyone Everywhere's (Tmobile & Orange) signal.

I've just commented on their blog, telling them I thought their pricing was way off. Guess what they've removed it!

I wasn't nasty or anything, nor did I mention other companies offerings.. the cheeky ******

O2's censorship (and lying about censoring the comments) on it's blog is pretty well known and a wonder to behold. The blog is basically useless.

Yeah they aren't keen on negative posts on their blog. They also disregarded my tweet to them pointing out that with those tariffs the other networks would be laughing at them

The other networks will either be laughing their socks off tonight or trying to weigh up if they can get away with it too...

I hope its not the latter.

Orange are revising their plans on 1st April. Definately not going the way of O2!

They don't seem *that* different to me... Still not great, of course.

e.g.

My current O2 plan:

O2 35, 18 months (iPhone). £35.74pcm (£35 under the old VAT) for 300 minutes, unlimited SMS, & 500MB data.

Equivalent new plan:

£31pcm over 18 months for 300 minutes & unlimited SMS, plus a further £6pcm for 500MB data, 20 MMS, and tethering. Total of £37pcm, rather than £35/£35.74, for the same allowances as my current plan, but also plus 20 MMS & tethering.

Well 3 in particular will be having a giggle I think. Nothing that o2 is offering even comes close to the one plan

Seems this forum aren't too keen either. I started the original thread on Monday giving advance notice of the new O2 tariffs then got an email from the moderators of this forum saying i was banned for 48 hours and the whole thread with a lot of responses was deleted

Are O2 an advertiser here

I saw the original thread and was puzzled to find it had disappeared the following morning, maybe they didn't like you sharing the information ahead of time. O2 are rightly getting a drubbing for their new tarriffs, I'm on a Simplicity tariff which I took out nearly three years ago and it's much better value than the rubbish they are now offering.

Its strange why you got booted for 48 hours
if a network wants to price itself out of the market i think it fair we can chat about it.
o2 got greedy when they secured the original iphone contracts before any other uk network and stayed greedy ever since imo.

Only reason I can think of would be the homepage of the site you linked is commercial in nature and not allowed. Saying that though you directly linked to an image on your server with the O2 tariffs on which isn't really naughty (in my opinion)

Other than that I didn't think there was anything wrong with the thread and was puzzled when it was deleted and you were banned. If your unsure on why you were banned, you'd probably be best asking admin, if only to make sure you don't do whatever it was that got you banned again

I was wondering where the other thread had gone??

I was looking for it as I posted in it.

I have also posted on the O2 blog but seems they don't like negative comments! So just remove your post!

All i said to O2 was they are pricing themselfs out the market. This only fuels after the poor traffic management that has been put on their new broadband packages.

As a company they are now offering very poor products on both.

Their 3G covereage is the worst across the UK.

Highest price, poorest 3G network what are they trying to do??

I can see the other networks having many new customer over the next few months!

Poor show O2!
