I used to eat 2 Greggs pasties every day in my youth. Sadly my waistline no longer allows it.

Every time I walk past a greggs, it seems to be full of the morbidly obese.

I would literally kill for Gregg's to come to Northern Ireland. When I lived in Newcastle I loved it. All the sandwiches are reasonably priced, unlike most other shops. And their pasties are superb, not to mention the sausage rolls.....mmmmm....2 for £1!

The only problem with Gregg's is that they don't keep the pasties etc hot. Nothing worse than a cold steak bake. I do like the food from Gregg's but even at lunch time some of the food is cold.

I prefer Sayers sausage rolls, but there are a few things in Greggs that make it worth a trip at times. I think it is that they offer a better variety that has made them more popular.

I find they do a better job at that than Morrisons and their C&O pasties are better.

You have to time it right to get them warm. Nothing worse than a microwaved pastie

I remember when there was a Greggs and Bakers Oven opposite each other in the town centre and if you didn't like the look of the food or queue in one you just opped into the other.

Recently found out that Greggs bought them out years ago and have been closing/rebranding stores.

I have yet to walk past a greggs and see this sight. There might be one or two larger than average people, but never full. Maybe you just live in an area where there is a bigger majority of Morbidly Obese?

Love their Tottenham Cake and sausage rolls but alas I am on a health kick and haven't had either in months and months and months!

Well if you already have a sayers then it will be a shame to downgrade tro Greegs.

Greegs is ok but its not in the same class as sayers.

Perhaps there is, never looked at the stats for the borough of Kingston upon Thames, however, i've never spotted the greggs near me, but often for work, I find myself up north in places like Leeds and Manchester and hull...loads of them there. You can see their clammy little hands shovelling pastry into their salivating gobs, it's like feeding time at the zoo....bleurgh!

Hmmmm maybe there is just a little bit of judging based on the type of food outlet Greggs is. I live up north and as I have said I very rarely see these morbidly obese people you suggest frequent these places.

Not at all. I pop into mcd's now and again, and there are nowhere as many fatties in there as greggs.

We popped to Greggs for lunch last year when we were waiting on a new fridge/freezer being delivered (so had nothing chilled/frozen in the house). I can honestly say I had the best chicken salad sandwich I have ever tasted; properly filled and beautifully fresh. The rest of the family had sausage rolls, bought when still warm - and every one of them keeps saying how much they enjoyed them. Expensive compared to the supermarkets, but a lovely treat for a one-off lunch!

Not any more. The prices of the sausage rolls just keep creeping up all the time.

Back in my high school years we had one right next to us, perfect for lunch. Their sausage rolls, C&O pasties and steak bakes are absolutely delish. Recently discovered that nothing staves off the start of a nasty hangover as well as a steak bake and full fat coke. Mmmm <3
