My faves in this order:

1: Scotty McCreery
2: James Durbin
3: Casey Abrams
4: Jacob Lusk
5: Paul McDonald
6: Stefano Langone

But I dunno if Scotty has the momentum to keep it up for the rest of the shows, anyone think he might be pipped to the position of top man?

James and Stefano are my favourites, either one can be better depending on the night or song. I like Scotty and Jacob too. Casey's OK, but not working well at the moment. Not keen on Paul's voice though.

James was originally nowhere for me but he has done a couple of good performances.

JUST WHY IS EYEBROW EXTRAORDINAIRE EVEN THERE?
6: Stefano Langone

Lol is Stefano an Eyebrower too?

I can't tell as my eyesight's not great....but I loved Rikki in XF who had a similarly high pitched voice and was also known for his bizarre looking eyebrow!

His eyebrows seem to have a life of their own. It's like a whole Ant & Dec show going on each week above the eyes!

Lol worse than Rikki's eyebrow situation then?

1. Scotty McCreery - for me the most interesting singer in the competition. He has a loyal fanbase now but he may be too divisive to win over the floating voters.
2. Casey Abrams - I'm still hoping for the great artist I saw in Hollywood to show up, but one more dodgy performance and my faith in him may be gone.
3. James Durbin - not too keen on his personality but he does keep impressing me with his performances.
4. Jacob Lusk - I like his style of singing and he can hit some very unusual notes, though sometimes it sounds like he's in pain and his performances are all rather samey.
5. Paul McDonald - not really a fan, infact I find his voice the most irritating of all. I can never tell what this guy is saying. For the most experienced performer of the bunch, he is just so flat on the stage.
6. Stefano Langone - not a bad singer, but he just bores me rigid I'm afraid. He might aswell be invisible.

Having said that, I prefer the girls this year... apart from Lauren and Thia.

My top 3 in no particular order are
Scotty McCreery
James Durbin
Casey Abrams

Scotty has been consistent for me. I'm starting to like James
more than I thought I would while Casey has been a bit disappointing these past two weeks. I would be happy to
see any of these 3 win.

I totally agree with your comments.

Even if Scotty doesn't win, he will have a long successful career after AI. Country is very big in America & he will do very well

If Casey is given the right song for this week & loose that manic performance, it could be "his week" to shine

I quite like James, but outside of AI I can't see him being as successful as Scotty

1 - Stefano - His "I Need You" now is one of only two performances that impressed me this series.
2 - Paul - His "Blackbird" was the other performance that impressed me.
3 - Casey - I appreciate good musicianship.
4 - Scotty - Don't really like country but he has something about him.
5 - James - I didn't like Lambert the first time around!
6 - Jacob - Sings (or caterwauls) songs to within an inch of their life. Needs to tone it down!

I agree too! I think James could come across as a bit arrogant but I think he's just having a good time. I didn't see his 'sob story' audition so I don't know too much about that. His facial ticks and things don't seem to be going against him which is good - but overall he's not my cup of tea, i'm just impressed with his enthusiasm and showmanship so far, compared to the others.

Casey was my favourite, if I had to pick one, but he hasn't been very good. He needs the right song and needs to concentrate on making the vocals right for him.

Scotty was also a favourite of mine but his side mouth singing isn't for me and I would actually prefer he didn't keep doing country. Is it me or have they toned down his foundation (way too caked on in the first couple of weeks) and dyed his hair a darker shade of brown? I think that was to counteract the makeup.

I like Paul because he is in a band so has some credibility, but to be honest I wouldn't bother voting for him if I could. His voice is interesting I wish he would do a slower, delicate song like in HW to show it off rather than all the karaoke stuff he has been doing.

Stefano is way too cheesy and boyband for me. He seems sweet and has had some good performances but personally I'm just not into that kind of thing so find him a tad dull.

I don't really get Jacob at all. His facial expressions are weird and I'm not sure he is as good a singer as the panel say. Yes he can belt out the high notes but I have yet to be wowed - but I'm hoping to see a great performance from him to change my mind.

So for me, it probably goes something like:

Casey
James
Scotty
Paul
Jacob
Stefano.

They're all a bit rank this year. We're missing another 'big hair boy who cannot sing'.

Just about the only male totty this year is tweezer boy (a.k.a. Stefano).

Oh, you mean rank their singing ability?

1. Jacob
2. James

Lovely Sanjaya, and Tim Urban.

No big hair this year, just big beards.

Lol I liked Sanjaya but I didn't like Tim. Sanjaya's voice was just a bit weak in comparison with others, but Tim's tuning was all over the place lol!

Beards seem to be the in thing this year, what with Lee DeWyze on the results show too!

I've still not got over the 'Under my Thumb' with a happy reagge vibe performance

Ranking - well, if certain people can control their vocals, others can cut out the dancing and sound less like Macy Grey and others stop it with the growling already...

1. Jacob
2. Scotty
3. Paul (with massive reservations and could easily be at 6 after this week)
4= James
4= Casey
6. Stefano

1. Scotty - the only contestant this year I would cross the road to see or hear. I'm not a Country fan but I love this boy's tone and delivery.

2. Jacob - very good voice but does he have to show every single note in his repertoire in every performance?

3. Casey - I can't be doing with all the "he's a great musician" lark. This is a singing (and to an extent performing) competition and I just wish he would live up to his early potential

4. Paul - I don't like his voice but there is something appealing about it and something very appealing about Paul.

5. Stefano - not a bad singer but nothing special and a little too cheesy and dated for me.

6. James - probably the first tribute act to a previous contestant and an extremely poor imitation at that.

1. Scotty - there's a danger of him being a bit samey each week but I do like that style of Country

2. Casey - as others have said, he's disappointed recently, but when he's good he's very very good

3. James - I've found his performances very impressive, you can tell he's really into the song

4. Stefano - I like his voice and I'm not so averse to the 'easy-listening' vibe as some

5. Jacob - if he could control himself more often he'd be higher up the list

6.Paul - I don't like his tone most of the time, occasionally he's bearable

1. Scotty - If it isn't broken, why fix it?

2. Casey - I'm glad they saved him. I would have missed him if he hadn't been there this week.

3. Paul - I like him. Why, I don't know but I do. I can't see myself buying anything by him after the show though and the same goes for all but Scotty.

4. Jacob - I desperately want to like him but I don't like the sound of his voice at all and his constant overdoing is off-putting. Still my tip of finalist against Scotty though.

5. Stefano - I don't mind easy listening, I just don't think Stefano's voice is anything you wouldn't hear at karaoke.

6. James - the voice required for his chosen genre has never been there and the performances, gimmicks, poses and styling are so cliched that they are now laughable.
