Leona Lewis
Any news on her new album, the name and release? I am sure I heard it was to be released in summer and the first single to be released early 2011
Anyone looking forward to it? I am quite excited to see what is in store, apparently a different genre of music? Anyone know what kind? I can imagine her doing much better this time around IMO. She has such a raw talent. I think she could do an adele tbh, by that i mean, going quiet for a while and then suddenly coming back into the limelight and going to the top of the charts, fingers crossed. ![]() I hope the album and singles she releases have a few belters, ballads, like her old style. |

Yeah I hope she does well this time round, I can see her cropping up on the US X Factor as a 'this is how successful the show is' etc, I think Simon Cowell will definitely give her a chance to promote some new material which will hopefully be a bit different to her normal stuff.

BTW Leona has a vevo on youtube with all her old videos. The official bleeding love is on there too. I was looking for it many times and now I have found it. All her official videos disappeared, but their back, bleeding love is nearly 100 million views.

Yes I'm looking forward too it. I can't wait. There hasn't really been any news on this album unfortunately. I reckon it'll either be released around summer time or around the end of the year.
I'm hoping she'll have a few uptempo songs and release one of them as the lead song from the album. People need to see a different side to her. It doesn't have to be drastic, just something that will hopefully stop the 'boring' tag some people give her. No doubt she'll have some ballads on there to. Her voice is brilliant so she'll definitely show that of. I'm hoping it'll be a success. You just never know these days. She just needs to release a great first single as it can be hard to recover from an underperforming one. Her label need to fix up too. |

I hope she does well with her 3rd album. She has a killer voice and deserves great material to match it!
![]() I do think Echo is pretty good though. There's some good songs on it. Shame it had so much to live up to after the success of her debut. |

I definitely can't wait for her next album-her voice is stunning and I really feel that she will branch out more in her music.

I'm really excited and hope there will be a healthy mix of uptempo and ballads. I think it's important that she proves she can handle uptempo songs but also just as important that she doesn't forget her roots.
This is going to be the album that will make or break her, and I'm really hoping for a positive response from the general public as well as her fans or I fear Leona's career will be in trouble, after the lukewarm reaction to the Echo era. |

I can't wait for the 3rd era!
Just because Echo didn't sell anywhere near the amount of Spirit doesn't mean it flopped! It sold bucket loads and topped the chart. Plus she had a sell out arena tour off the back of Echo. Not bad.....!! I hope the lead single is a different, more edgy style, yet still demonstrating her amazing vocal ability. Fingers crossed the album will contain some signature ballads too. If that lead single is chosen correctly, she has the potential to top the charts both here and over the pond! |

A tip for those awaiting Leona's new material:
Switch on the hoover and stare at a wall of drying paint. It will be like you're watching her new video. |

Whilst I accept that Echo hardly flopped, it sold way less than the debut so I think the 3rd album is crucial to Leona's career trajectory post post post X Factor. She can't really afford to sell less than the sophomore or the talk will be that her career is definitely on the wane. Talking of her last tour, the promoters IMO over-egged her popularity because the well known scalping sites were selling tickets at way less than cost eventually.
And would her record company risk an up tempo lead single? I doubt it but time will tell... |

The only thing that went wrong with echo is that it didnt do well in the states, it was number 1 in the uk and a few other places i think but she needed it to explode in the usa like spirit and then it would have been just as successful or even more!
I remember being really disappointed with Echo upon first listen of the album but it really grew on me when I realised there was no way to better Spirit. I think more people need to come to the same realisation - that Spirit was a rare juggernaut and it's best to look at each Leona era as a seperate thing and not keep linking it to Spirit. I also don't see what's so bad about her having a more UK based career. International success is amazing for anyone who can get it but Leona can still have a very comfortable career in her home country as long as her label play it right and give her quality, varied material. I bet she must make a bit of money doing private gigs and such like. |

I like Echo a lot more than Spirit, Can't Breathe is my favourite Leona song, I also love Happy just as much as Bleeding Love.
The perfect album for me though would be a mix of the songs I love the most from Echo and Spirit and would be... From Spirit. Bleeding Love, Whatever It Takes, Homeless, Better In Time, Take A Bow, I Will Be, First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, Footprints In The Sand, Forgive Me, Misses Glass, Run. From Echo. Happy, I Got You, Can't Breathe, Brave, My Hands, Broken, Naked, Don't Let Me Down, Love Letter, Lost Then Found, Stone Hearts. Can't wait for the new album but I hope she dosn't change too much. |

I don't think she will ever better Bleeding Love to be honest - what an amazing, iconic smash of the noughties. I remember when it first came out listened to it a ridiculous amount of times per day, radio stations were swamped with requests for it it was just pure and utter magic of a song. It's very rare that comes around.

The thing that really sold Spirit was "Run", it was a song that touched people.
Adele has done the same thing with "Someone like you ". When you have songs like those that manage to capture the imagination of people, it just skyrockets album sales. |
