Can anyone help with the following:

I've got a Panasonic DMR-EX89 DVD Recorder which is connected to the Sky+ box via scart, but when I switch to AV2 to copy from the Sky+ box on the HDD, the picture does not appear, can anyone tell me why?

First thing I would check that the scart lead is correctly connected, it only takes a fraction of an inch to loose connection.

I've already done that, but the picture still isn't showing.

The input and output signal types must match on both devices.

Also , for the sake of quality copying the signal type should be RGB.
and therefore the scart lead must be a fully wired type as only this type can carry RGB.

If you have a sky box type with two scarts, use the TV scart output of the skybox to feed AV2 of the DVDR. [ as only the TV scart will output RGB ]

If you have a skybox type with a single scart, use that but scart control must be enabled before the unit will output RGB.


The EX83 should intake RGB by default, but you can check the AV2 input setting in Functions / to others / Setup / Connections
