"something" tikka massala
I made chicken tikka massala last night (which was lovely) and I have a portion of the sauce left over.
Any ideas of what to have it with? I like to have variety in my meals so don't like to have the same meal (chicken tikka, rice, naan) too close together. This is for tomorrow. Would fish work? Cod tikka massala??? |

Fish would work fine, Cod works well with strong flavours, Jacket spud would work well too.

Make it into a tikka masala biryani - rice, onions and a few spices, then baked in the oven.

Cod Tikka Massala was very nice. Even better than with chicken which I had the other night.
I served it with a variation on Bombay Potatoes. |

Anyone know where to get the proper Paneer? My mum went to India over to her friend and came back talking about Paneer. The only place she could find it was Sainsburys but she says its not near as nice as the Indian fresh one? Would it be available in a specialist food shop or somewhere?

I had paneer tikka massala last night. I tried the paneer on it's own first and wasn't to impressed...
but after a bottle of wine and serving it with the massala it wasn't too bad. I couldn't really taste it but it was a veggie alternative to chicken or other meat. I've having cod tikka massala again today with the leftover sauce. |

With the strenght of the sauce when I mixed it in I don't think it would have made much difference. It just became filler.
I remember trying monk fish before in a thai coconut curry and thinking it would have been just as good with pork or chicken because of the powerful flavours of the sauce. Cheap frozen chicken usually does me for stuff like that. Saying that, I like to try different things and it was the first time i've had paneer. |
