I have just bought an 8gb micro SD today to replace the 4gb card that came with my Desire.

Is it as simple as connecting the old one to my computer then copying all the contents to a folder, then pasting the contents into the new card? Or am I missing something?

I don't even know where the card is on my phone!

If its the same as the wildfire...Take the back cover off. There will be a side slot. The sd card is there.

ok the desire is different,

There seems to be a slide opener at the bottom of the phone , where you waoul access the sim card.

Slip the off and the SD card is left of the sim.

Take the back cover off and you'll see where the card goes.
Take out the battery and push the card and it will release.

You should be ok copying the contents of the card over.

If you've got the kindle app you'll need to download the books again as it won't recognise them. Not sure about apps you've moved to the card, you may have to download again.

It's a good idea to have a permanent folder on your computer to periodically backup your SD card. i had one fail recently and i'm glad that i had the sense to back it up. transferring the contents to the new card was easy and quick!
