The one plan from 3
spaceman05

Hi i am with 3, and have been for 5 years or so, i recently upgraded to their one plan because of the all you can eat data that came with it, it started today, i checked my phone usage part of my account today, 5000 texts, 500 3 to 3 minutes, 2000 minutes, which all seem right, but the internet bit says i have got 1024 mb left to use this month, and goes down slighlty each time i look at it, this is what i used to start the billing cycle with, is anybody on the 1 plan, does this noramlly happen, what will happen if i do use it all, will i get charged for going over, as like i say i only upgraded to the plan for the unlimited data, and this seems pretty small amount if it is supoposed to be unlimited.

TIA

My understanding is that the plan previously had a 1GB limit, but now it's genuinely unlimited. Might be that it isn't reflected in all their systems yet?

5000 3to3 minutes isn't it on the one plan.

Anyway in your usage page does it say the one plan as the website probably just needs an update to reflect this.

just check with 3 to be sure

The Three website states it'll show 1GB allowance for data until they update their systems.

well according to their website it does include 5000 3to3 minutes, here i have copied and pasted from this link:-

The One Plan.
The One Plan was designed specifically for smartphones and to give you complete piece of mind. You'll get on a 24 month contract:

• 2,000 any network minutes
• 5,000 Three-to-Three minutes
• 5,000 text messages
• All-you-can-eat-data
• Voicemail

And yes it does say on my page that i am now on the 1 plan, its ok i have sorted it, i have read the bit on the website about it, and also have a mate in work who has been on the one plan for a couple of months, and he still shows up as 1gb at the begining of each month, and not been charged yet when he went over, so must be a glitch they have not fixed yet

Just to add, I spoke to the woman from 3 when I joined with the same question and she also said it was completely normal and data would definitely be unlimited.

I cant say to much yet, but I understand from information passed on to me that one of the Virtual networks will be launching all you can eat data. From what I have been told they will be launching their new tariffs on Wednesday. So we will just have to wait and see.

Giffgaff already do this. There are no MVNOs running on 3.
Virgin is the main one on EE. On vodafone there's Asda (and maybe Lebara?).

I don't see virgin doing it. Maybe Asda, I don't see Tesco doing it with their punitive out-of-allowance data charges.

So it's 3 or GG on O2; both offering good value packages. Just on giffgaff you can get it at £10, on 3 the lowest is £15.

To be fair to wod1, he is infact saying it is 5000 3 to 3 minutes on the one plan, in my opening post i mistyped and put 500 3 to 3 minutes, and with his reply i did the same as you and misread it, which is why i posted the link to the 3 website

This happened to me and after checking with 3 it was confrimed that the indicated data allowance is incorrect.

I can now confirm that TalkMobile (part of CPW) have now joined the ranks of truly unlimited data. As they use Vodafones network it should be pretty reliable.

I'm still on contract with 3 til next october, as i wish i had gone with the one plan instead of the internet texter 500 as i've nearly used half of the 1gb already and i have to the 21st until its renewed.
