I'm getting such good vibes from Pala. You know when you just get a good feeling about an album for so many reasons, and you just know you'll love it? Exactly what's happened with me here. I bought Pala today online for that reason, after hearing it just 2 times, and this from someone who was previously not all that fussed about Friendly Fires. I just love this album so much!

Yep, I listened to it in the car today and it was so good - funnily enough I was driving to St. Albans (as I do every Monday) which is FF's home town

Honestly, On Pala i think i have some of my fave sonvs of all time on that disc!

and honestly leaving Blue Cassette out tut tut! Seriously Eds vocals on that song (well the entire album but BC in particular) really are so powerful i get some shakes....cannot describe!

They have a lot of material to get out there from Pala....such an EPIC album in so many ways!

Afew months ago, I came on this forum & started waxing lyrical about Holy Ghost!, a relatively unknown NYC underground funk/electronic act. They had remixed a track of Friendly Fires called 'On Board' (I still think their remix is superior!), anyways, Im very late to the greatness of FF's, but I'm totally hooked too! I managed to buy the deluxe version of the debut album, which has some remixes (though, sadly not the HolyGhost! remix), and, hungry for more, Im buying Palas this week.

I must say though, to anyone thats into FF's, try the Holy Ghost! debut album. Its got that similar funky looseness to the tracks, where also, vintage keyboards feature throughout, without dominating the overall sound. The big differences btwn the bands for me, is FF's have that euphoric optimism, whereas HG! has a more downbeat NYC outlook. But BOTH are amazing, and unsurprisingly, both bands know each other & collaborate together on each others works. Enjoy!

Yeah I listened to Holy Ghost!'s album loads when it first came out. First half of that album is indeed amazing, but if I'm being honest, the second half underwhelmed me. Still though, the album is worth buying for the first half alone. There's loads of similar electro acts to FF and HG around right now who are also amazing

Friendly Fires have always been a bad that I know of, but don't really listen to.

Until now, that is.

I'm going to Glastonbury tomorrow so I thought i'd download some albums.

They were so good at Glastonbury. I touched Ed, he was a bit sweaty from the amazing dancing, and everyone seemed really into it. By the time Paris came on, I think everyone was shouting the lyrics and dancing themselves
