HDMI Sound
I am trying to play dvds through my HP laptop to the TV which is a LG32L5020 connected via a hdmi cable. The picture is fine but no sound! Interestingly the laptop plays BBC i player through the hdmi cable no problem at all. DVDs play through the laptop onto a Sony Bravia TV without problems which seems to suggest that there is a setting on the LG tv which I am missing although the lack of sound only relates to dvd playing.
Anyone any ideas? |

Try a different HDMI socket on the TV. Not all will be full HDMI with audio.

What format of audio are you trying to send to the telly? I would be surprised if it would make any sense at all of a surround sound format like DTS or Dolby Digital. As a result it probably just falls silent.
So maybe setting the DVD to output stereo will get the telly making some noise. |

My LG 32LH3000 sometimes does this. Try removing the HDMI and plugging it back in which works for mine..

I suggest you try to plug your cable into different HDMI socket. This will solve your issue.

The audio out from a PC via HDMi has to be enabled via Start / control panel / sounds / set HDMi as the default . all will be ok !
