Oh, pooh!

Please, please, please can you wonderful folks keep the updates coming - my digibox thingy has decided to crash completely and I have no television at all!

I can't even phone Murdoch's Boys, because last time I did that, they wanted to charge me to come out and fix it and I told them that I would throw it away in that case!

Oh, pooh!

I can set up an old telly for Channel 4, so I will be okay later, I guess.... for a while.

*sob*

Lol, poor Stu .I'm sure team handsome have already set him up with someone for when he gets out of the house. She'd better make it a good one cos it'll probably be her only one.

They have every right to ask, like the housemates have a right to refuse.

This might sound like an obvious question but have you tried turning it off at the mains for 30 seconds. If it's just a routine crash then that should fix it.

You may be better off phoning Sky after all, If your box is broke they will replace it with a reconditioned one for very little cost. Better than having to fork out £150 for a new one.

Yes, I turned it off at the mains.

Not sure what to do now. I suppose I could try living without sky telly for a while until I can save up the huge amounts I spend every month on the subscription to give me enough to get a new one...

£60 for an engineer callout and that includes replacement box if necessary.
Best thing like you say is to remove the card, switch off the box at the mains for 1 minute and let the box cool down. I have to do this at least once a week. Make sure there is good circulation to the digibox vents aswell.

Drugs do indeed secrete into the hair. It is therefore possible to tell from a hair strand a pattern of drug taking. The closer the hair is to the head, the more recent the drug taking. Therefore someone who has not taken drugs for a month will have no/minute traces in the closest 3cm to their head. With hair as long as Shell's you could test it back some time. However, the results are affected by hair dye so the result would not be as accurate as in natural hair.

I had wondered about the poor ventilation thing, since the box is in a television cupboard thing from Ikea! I have been leaving the door open recently. This is not the first time that some of the channels have been gone, but it is the first time the thing has been dead completely!

I will unplug it for a few mins and try again.

What is happening on BBLB?
