I've grown up around cats but they've always been male. I have my first female cat and she is about 7-8 months old. She was spayed at least six weeks ago.
Today a new cat came in the garden and I actually thought it was female from the sounds it was making. (Where I live there are a few obviously unspayed females as I've heard them calling before.). It was very interested in my cat and I thought it might want to make friends.
Lol.
It had got in my door and when I went in the front room it stank of wee. I realised then it was a boy! My cat came in and I shut the door but he stayed outside meowing and wailing for ages. I was so surprised at this as, as I've stated, she has been 'done.' Is it usual for a tom cat to still be interested in a spayed female?

Last summer I had to order another cat away from my house. I think it was a he (couldn't see in the dark
) who was sat on my front fence, staring up at my window and calling.
Thanks for replying and sharing your experiences. Sounds about normal then. I had the carpet cleaner out and was doing the carpet.
Luckily it seems to have worked.
Does it just last whilst it's 'kitten season?'
