OK guys, I will say this once and I really hope you take it the right way. This thread is where the Mambo Mafia began, and as I wrote before I will always support it and come here to post from time to time, but first, in my case I run the forum and I have to concentrate my energies there. Second, whether we like it or not, this thread will never again be what it was when OTR was going on. Then, it was a whole bunch of people following Danielle and supporting her to win the show, and even for a few months afterwards it was primarily a place for fans to gather to share information and support for Danielle. Now, the forum pretty much serves that role, and this thread has become the equivalent of a chat thread for those of you who just want to come and chat about whatever, including Danielle but also about a whole bunch of other random stuff. Some people find it hard to follow, and others would rather just stay on topic and keep subjects more organized, so they stay on the forum, but others like the random chatting and atmosphere on here, so they stay here. There are quite a few old DS regulars who post on the forum pretty much exclusively now, as well as some who never posted on here and only post on the forum and conversely, there are some who started out on the forum who now post mostly on here, as well as those who post on both. There are also people who post on there and lurk on here, or post on here and lurk on there, or lurk on both.
I think it’s just a case of each entity meeting different needs/wants. The last thing I want is there to be a forum vs. DS mindset, because that is not necessary. The forum serves its purpose and so does DS. It’s just that DS’s purpose has changed over the past year and not as many people post here anymore. It’s not because it’s bad or because anyone thinks the regulars here are not “serious” Danielle fans (and if anyone does think that then that’s silly—if you’re a fan, then you’re a fan). The Mambo Mafia started here and was brought over to the forum, and as far as I’m concerned if you post here, there or both, you are part of it. There are some people who seem to spend most of their time on Twitter these days as well, and that doesn’t make them any less Mafia either. We are one organization with several outposts (kind of like the real Mafia, I suppose!

), and while the forum is pretty much the center of it now since it was officially endorsed, all of the outposts are equally Mafia.
Basically, the bottom line is that we are all fans, all Mambo Mafia, and we have the forum, DS, Twitter and also the (wonderful!) fan site that Baby D has designed and maintains. It’s not either/or or one vs. the others. It’s all good. Let’s be happy and have fun reading and posting away on whichever one or more of the sites you prefer, and remember that we are all fans together. Viva la Speranza!
