I'm kind of ashamed to admit it, but proud at the same time, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE The Only Way Is Essex right now!
I love the people, especially Amy Childs. She's got a such a likeable personality!
I always kind of hold back from enjoying it too much though, because some things are set up for "entertainment purposes", so you never really know what's real and what's not.
What do you all think?

Lost interest in this programme when you can tell a lot of scenes have been set up by the camera crew. Most peoples normal lives are dull and boring with lots of dull, boring conversations.

Can you imagine a camera crew of about 8 hanging around Amy, Mark, Lauren etc waiting for them to have some exciting, controversial conversations which they can use to broadcast.
What happened to Amy's friendship with Sam, those two were funny together.

Yeah i see what you're saying there. They'd be lucky to get an in elligent conversation out of them! How infuriating is Joey Essex?! He's just so dim. He looked horrified in last nights show when he found out that hairdrying and blowdrying were the same thing! Sam can do so much better!
I had to LOL when mark saw them kissing. He's really got himself in a trap now.

It really isn't real other than they are real people as are you and I.

It's called acting.

(sorry if it's spoilt anything for you, but it is a new tv concept merging a docu drama soap)

However, I'm lovin the red head girl who's got the nail bar.

She's going to be a star when she leaves this soap and does other stuff.

I can't believe anybody would think this was anything other than a scripted drama. On top of that the acting is so bad I think I'm transported back to the days of the Woodentops.

Whether it's real or not, I love it. Even if it it's only to have a giggle at some of their conversations about who the Prime Minister is and the difference between a hair dryer and blow dryer.
I do think the 'engagement' between Mark and Lauren is fake though. I've seen it on the front of some magazines that he's just in it for the money, and she apparently thinks it's real! Poor girl...

I'm slightly confused on here it says Laurens getting sued or might be by kia cos they gave her a car which she uses on the show but they keep cutting the scenes.
How can they sue her it's not her fault if the scenes are cut. Unless she kidnaps Mark and sits him in the car for an hour while talking she cant do anything.

Oh Joey Essex has taken airheadedness to WHOLE new levels!
First of all, a trip to the tip for a first date? C'mon!
Second of all, a picnic consisting of squashed sandwiches and salt and vinegar crisps in the middle of a dark, chilly forest? Get a grip!
And finally, listen to cousin Chloe - stay away from the Thomas the Tank Engine picnic theme! It doesnt take Casanova to figure out that thats a bad move!
Rant over

It might be good for entertainment, but it'll most likely be completely scripted. How can you relax when you've got a camera 2-3 foot away from you all the time? I've seen a bit of an episode and you can tell that they're a bit uncomfortable with the cameras because of their obvious, tense body language.

Is Joey's surname ''Essex'' his real name or just his celebrity / stage name?

Yeah i've noticed that too. Its like they're trying really hard not to look at the camera, which like you said has got to difficult when they have cameras 2-3 feet away.
I've noticed that the conversation always tend to dry out when they are like this. Then there's the awkward silence! Cringe!

I thought maybe it was a stage name but nobody else has got one as far as i know. It wouldnt surprise me if that was all he could come up with. Highly original!
Despite that, its kinda cool
