Taking Sally kitten to the vet

7 month old Sally has always had bad breath, I have posted about it before. She had it at 12 weeks when we picked her up. It disappeared for a while then came back.

The vet told my girlfriend when she went in to be spayed at 5 months that she was teething and it would sort itself out. It hasn't and she won't eat kitten Whiskas. She just licks the gravy and leaves the meat, but she does eat Hills kitten biscuits and Morrisons My Cat kitten. My girlfriend is a cat food snob & doesnt like it but at least the cat eats it!

I looked at her mouth today (when she finally allowed me to) and her poor gums on her top jaw, both sides, are red raw and swollen. All her teeth don't appear to be through, so I have booked her in for a vet appointment. Hopefully this will sort her out.

Her breath smells awful poor little cutie!

Awwww sounds like her poor gums are infected......nothing worse than toothache type pain, even more so in a little kittie.. Hope all is well.

One of mine is like that, I put the food through a potato ricer, then she doesn't realise she's eating the meat too.

She also had gum problems as a kitten. Hills T/D food helped a lot (still use it a little, it really helps with bad breath of any sort). I also had to brush her teeth every day. That was fun.
