ONE?! That is not possible.

Of your list, I prefer Leerdammer. But my other favourites, depending on time of day, my mood and what I do with them would include paneer, mozzarella, emmental, bleu d'auvergne, camembert, brie, tomme, and probably a dozen others that I'll remember later.

There's a bit of a difference between mature cheddars, other stong cheeses and soft cheeses/cream cheese.

I mostly eat cheddar and the best i've tried recently was Taw Valley Tickler from Morrisons.

I'm not greatly bothered by always using British but I watched the Great British Food Revival program on Cheese and it was surprising how many pre-packaged chesse (probably mostly cheddar) was not from British milk.

When I followed low carbohydrate diets, i used to make lasagne using leerdammer instead of pasta sheets. I love the stuff, even though it's possibly the most uncheesy cheese i've ever tasted!!!!

Other than that i love red leicester!!

Vintage Cathedral City. Great texture and taste, though do find not all stores stock it.

The Lake District Cheese Co. Mature Cumbrian Cheddar.
It's really nice and doesn't have a funny aftertaste which I've had with some others.

None of the above for me. I don't have a favourite cos there is a cheese for every mood so I might choose from Stilton, Manchego, Gorgonzola, Camenbert, a mellow goat's cheese, or just something I've never seen before that looks interesting and yummy. I'm a big cheese fan!

I tried this the other day - the unpasteurised strength 5 stuff - lovely

To the OP: I love loads of types but if I had to name one - Orkney mature.
