Interesting, haven't listened yet but a lot of us called Elvis for Scotty correctly, Lauren's choice, hmmmm, remember Crystal doing that brilliantly HW week and strikes me Lauren's a bit too young for it, be interesting to see what James did with his choice.

Oh Stefano, you idiot!

He'll sing WAMLAW well, but it's hardly a current sounding choice of song, and I was hoping he'd go uptempo this week!

I predicted Aretha for Lauren, but I think my suggestion of Respect would've been more suitable.

Can't wait for the show anway!

I had a peek at the Entertainment Weekly review, looking forward to seeing the show tonight.

I really like WAMLAW. I think its one of those songs that a lot of people think is a boring ballad, but when you listen to it properly it has a gorgeous arrangement. Unfortunately, I don't think Stefano is the one to make this song sound great and modern. But we will see.

Yes poor Lauren with that song. They mustn't like her much atm. A teen singing that song, no matter how well, will always be a bit cringe.

Interested to see Scotty, Pia and Paul. Since Paul went on last, he will probably survive this week.

WAMLAW is OK, but I'd say it fits better with older people, like Andy Abraham on XF. (Steve sang it too, but I hated him lol). I was hoping that Stefano would sing something that made him stand out this week, because I think he has a great voice

Perhaps Stefano and Paul will both survive this week, seeing as they were the last 2 on? I don't like Paul, so I wish he'd been on first - but perhaps being on first will put Jacob at risk? Also, apparently, Jacob made an arrogant comment before he performed...

He did ........

"If I end up in the bottom 3, it wont be because I sang the song bad, or sang it wrong, it will be because everybody in America wasn't ready to look at themselves in the mirror."

& I can tell you it didn't go down well in the AI Offical Forum

He's in danger of being in the bottom 3 just because of his VT.

Ahhhh, seen it alluded to on DCO, where it didn't go down well either, but not exactly what he said, ummm on first and then making THAT remark - yikes, could be very sticky for him this week

I notice that Jacob was on first (with that silly comment kept in the edit!!!) and Stefano and Paul on last - who was it who said they will do everything to keep Jacob in but try and get rid of a white guy? Teehee

I've seen the performances at http://www.rickey.org/?cat=4125. They get posted there within 10 minutes of the live show. Have watched them all except Paul'zzzzz.

The one I liked best this week was <surprise, surprise> Scotty. I haven't been a fan, because he's been like a 65-year-old Val Doonican/Roger Whittaker performer, singing the same laid back C&W style every week, and he could probably have chewed gum while singing and still sounded the same. It was hard to believe he was 17.

But he did his Elvis thing and suddenly he actually was 17, and he even had some cocky sex appeal, which saw him mobbed by some girls at the end. All that was missing was a leather jacket.

I loved Scotty's performance too
Also Casey's and James's I really felt for James when he cried at the end

Pia was ok, at least it was an uptempo song this week, but she is so stiff on stage, doesn't move around well

IMO after watching all the performances, the ones in danger of the bottom 3 are ...

Jacob: On first, his VT comment and was doing the pelvic thrust all through his song

Hayley: Growled all through her song, I just don't get her

Paul: Not a great performance, relies on his smile too much

Stefano Good voice, but he just doesn't show any personality on stage

I'm getting very tempted to have Jacob as my boot this week - that comment, not a great performance, on first and the frankly weird groin thrusting at the backing singer did not a pleasant performance make.

Haley, a wee bit too much growl for me, but good vocals, stayed on point, hopefully safe again.

Lauren - song's way too old for her, sang it well enough, but very 'meh' - considering was Kelly, and Crystal HW week have done before, really bad song choice.

Casey - why are you smirking at me whilst delivering a sad song Better, uninspiring, but better

Stefano - fine vocals, but he's made of cheese, if he sang a Nine Inch Nails song he'd make it sound like cheese

Scotty - nice job, suited him, he had fun and a good time to go up tempo

James - sorry, well out of tune in places and his voice lacks the character and delicate touch for that song, very average

Pia - not buying it, sorry, ripped the grit out of the song, didn't work for me - it was all too controlled and precise

Paul - okay, ummm, why are you grinning at me whilst singing a song about being stuck in prison, wasn't his worst, but he, for me, hasn't got the vocals to take on Johnny Cash.

For me, Scotty and Haley were the best of the night.

BTW, what on earth have wardrobe and hair got against the girls - they all looked dreadful, Lauren's hair was awful, Pia and Haley's outfits were just They're all pretty girls, it takes real work to make them look that bad.

and ive gone right off Lusk after his arrogant comment...believing his own hype somewhat?

Looks like Jennifer has a rival ...

Kelly Clarkson tweeted: ”I might have a bit of a crush on Casey on American Idol this season. He’s super cute and obviously super talented. Great job tonight man!”

I'm 99% on the verge of putting Jacob as my boot this week.

Scotty was very good, nice to see a more fun, uptempo side to him.

I agree that was very off putting
Even Ryan made a comment about that after his performance

I really don't understand Jacob, he refused to sing "Let's get it on" by Marvin Gaye because he didn't want to sing a song about "nasties" LOL. Then during his live performance he was thrusting his hips at one of the female backing singers, it was very disturbing
The judges praised him for keeping true to himself and his morals

Well IF (I am sure he will) is voted off this week, Jacob will "have to look in the mirror" to see who is to blame

Jacob, I didn't hear what he saud in the VT but as always he did a good job. I thought Naima was back for a second when he went over to erm thrust her.

Haley was still pretty good but didn't reach that high of last week.

Casey, erm yeah he was good on parts but then started going into that strained I can't breathe voice that just puts me off.

Lauren just looked really defeated, don't know what's up with her. I don't think she'll go but I wouldn't be surprised if she was in the bottom 3.

I'm still not getting James, I found it pretty boring and it didn't do anything for me. The song didn't do any favours for him, good choice to pick a ballad just not that one.

Scotty McCreery was Scotty. The girls running on was staged and oh so odd.

Pia did a good job, I wanted her to relax a little more but it was deffinately a move in the right direction. And what was that outfit they put her in?!

Stefano sounded good but he doesn't interest me enough to watch him back.

Folsom Prison Blues was a good song for Paul and he did a really good job with it.

Hayley is the new Pia for me!

Bored of Pia now, couldn't care if she left.

Lauren's backing singers sounded so bored!!!!!!!!!!

Paul's is all a bit bizarre - singing about shooting a man and being in prison, with a great big beaming grin on his face

Although Casey and Jacob won the 'for the love of god please stop doing that it's disturbing' awards for the night. Casey for the 'sexy' smirking (in the middle of a song about breakups/heartache, eh?) and Jacob's ummm, groin thrusting, that's going to haunt me for days

Glad to see Jacob looking so endangered all of a sudden - he's not even one of my least favourites, but I'm a Stefano fan, and somewhat in the minority. At least he hasn't made a faux pas (other than his song choice) this week. Wish Paul had been the one to put the nail in the coffin though. I reckon if anything, he wa imprisoned for assault on my ears

I agree..the country music scene is crying out for a marketable young male solo artist and i think Scotty could make a hugely successful career after this.i too would like to see a younger, more spontaneous side more often.

People who were at the show said it was arranged by Nigel. It was pretty obvious I mean they didn't even come on together, they came on from two different sides.
